Bent Motherboard Pin
The corner pin of the Usb 3.0 socket was bent really bad when building my pc, it is bent in a full circle going back inwards towards the socket. How will this affect my PC? I'm not too fussed about fixing it but am worried it will short my PC and/or damage other parts.

Also the network adapter (ethernet port) doesn't work even after reinstalling drivers/windows etc.

Do I need to get a new motherboard?

Bent pin isn't likely to do anything. What were you doing to it? As for network adaptor, make sure you try different cables, sometimes you get one that goes bad. Other than that, it should work out of the box.
Worst case scenario, you won't be able to use the USB3 socket presumably for your case frontal connection USB ports.
Bent pins can usually be straightened out. But that sounds particularly bad, and you might want to take it for repairs. Or try to RMA it.
the usb3 header pins are small, but can be straightened with a small knife ot tweezer

if you got the board at a local store, exchange it
or if you purchased it online and can wait, return or rma the board

Some of the better stores off pin straightening as a service. My local store refurbishes damaged CPU socket pins for AMD and Intel, and at $60 AUD a pop it's much cheaper than a new board.
Thanks for the help, is it safe to leave the pin bent? It looks bent beyond repair

Are you actually planning to use that socket in future? If not, it should be fine.

I am not planning on using the socket and actually got the front usb ports to work using an adapter and a different usb socket, thank you for the help.

Now I just need to get the network adapter to work, I have tried everything and am considering just buying a seperate network adapter.
