AIO Cooler connections
AIO coolers coming today but I already checked my motherboard manual and the cooler manual and they both say two different things.

My motherboard has an AIO_PUMP connector so would all I need to do is plug the pump into the AIO_PUMP connector and then the two 120mm fans into CPU_FAN and CPU_OPT? Would this cause any issues with being able to control the RPM of the pump or fans?

My motherboards the Asus maximus X hero, it has CPU_FAN, CPU_OPT, H-AMP, EXT_FAN, W_PUMP, AIO_PUMP connectors

The cooler is the Kraken X62 280mm, it's manual says to use CPU_FAN for the pump, but the mobo manual says use AIO_PUMP for the pump and CPU_FAN and CPU_OPT for the 2 rad fans

I most likely won't change the pump RPM but I'd like to have the option to change it in CAM if it does end up being too loud at idle in my small case.

I have the X62 and the connector is plugged into the CPU_FAN, that's all, and use CAM to control pump and fan speeds, you can have the pump set to performance, and it's still quiet..
I have both fans and pump on perfromance to cool my i9 9900k and 5.1Ghz, temp never over 75oC.. :)
The NZXT Kraken X62 v2 (280) uses a 5th generation DDC Pump while the NZXT Kraken X72 (360) uses a 6th Generation DDC Pump.
The cabeling for alle the newer NZXT Kraken (the one with the ringed RGB M22, X42, X52, X62 v2 and X72, not the X61) is exactly the same. Even the manual is the same.

It has a Mini-USB (male) to USB 2.0 Internal (male) cable to software control the Pump and the RGB aswell as powering the RGB.

Also it has a 9pin (male) cable connected to the Pump that splits into 3 cables:

-A cable with 4x 4pin PMW (female) connectors to connect the fans too (even for the tripple fan x72 it has only 4 connectors and therefor cant be used in push pull without splitters).
-SATA Power (to power the fans)
-3pin (male) header to connect the Pump to the Motherboard and deliver power for the pump.

The manual clearly states to connect the fan header of the Pump to the: CPU FAN header on the motherboard.
You set the Pump speed to the CPU temperature which takes the average CPu temperature of the last 30 seconds to not spike with the CPU speedwise.
The Fan Speed is set to the liquid temperature.
