There are bad ones out there
Maybe G-sync, but it's a little overpriced. Helps if your frames do ever drop, you most likely wouldn't notice it then.
Ignore the response time (1-5ms) ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, becuase that's not actually how fast the monitor responds to your movements.
(A '5ms' monitor can 'respond' faster than a '2ms' one.)
Plus, anything below 5-10ms is really imperceptible.
You wouldn't want one that's too big, just ruins the pixel density, resulting in a worse looking image, but that's just me, most people wouldn't have a problem.
How good the pannel is you're buying (If there is backlight bleed, flickering, ghosting)
Guess you could consider 21:9 (3440x1440p) vs 16:9 (2560x1440p) aspect ratio.
Ultrawide (21:9) should provide better immersion, but will take more GPU power to push at max settings.
That's just about all I can think of at the moment.
Also for reference ...I have a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ standard 21.7 inch 1920x1080p 60hz. Screen
Just make sure you say ultrawide or 21:9. Otherwise people will asume you mean 2560x1440p.
And if you want max settings at that res, yes. You need real beef to back it. I wouldnt really recommend anything else but 1080ti / 2080 /2080ti.
You could get away with a 1080. But youd have to turn down settings.
the GPU is the most expensive component in a PC gaming build and you should always spend as much money possible on it without going completely broke. there is no reason to buy a GPU then have to replace it 2-3 years later because you didnt buy something better back then.
so either go 1080 or 1080ti accept nothing less
3440x1440p is 21:9. (Ultrawide)
But yes. You shouldnt really have a problem with any game at 1440p (16:9) with a 1080.
Get a decent aftermarket one with high boostclock and its a breeze.
Depends on the games really.
But with what hes playing I agree.
High boostclock? You mean the video card yeah ?
Yes he does. Typically the ASUS ROG Strix cards come with the highest boost clock out of the box, but if you get a card with 2 8-pin power connectors you'll be able to overclock the card if you want
Is it fine or will I get overheating from 1440p gaming 60-100 fps ?
I'm not an "expert" on pc parts and how they work together
