No other brand mouse has every went bad on me, and I've owned a lot of mice (been system building for 18 years now).
I'd just drop it in the trashcan and go with, basically, anyone else.
Generally, they wont' repair mice outside of warranties either (last I checked).
Though anything I bought from Logitech was crap. Switched to Razer. Not everyone has the same experience with the same brands.
I find the Deathadder mouse simple and comfortable. I have bigger hands (I can't use the normal size ones) and I like the comfort that this line of mouse provides.
I've heard many times that people weren't really satisfied with Razer products and I bought my first Razer product (which was a Blackwidow keyboard) with lots of doubts. It's almost 5 years old and it's going strong. Never had a problem with this keyboard, I really love it. Whereas the mouse... It's really a shame and I'm really disappointed with Razer for this. I simply wasn't expecting this from a mouse like this. I tried lots of mices, there was always a thing that wasn't right, like the precision, the way it fitted in my hand and so on. This one was really good, I've played lots of shooters with this mouse and I've never felt like it wasn't the right mouse for me. I liked the performance and the aesthetics too. Simply the best mouse for me though some might not agree with me, but it really suitted me. I'm really disappointed to see it breaking down despite the leds and the buttons are working just fine. Despite the fact that it was already hard for me to find a good mouse now I also have trust issues with new mices. I'll take a look at other brands to see what might be worth a shot. Thanks for your advices, I really appreciate it.
Well, to be honest, I was gaming quite a lot when I had some free time, mostly in weekends and holidays especially when I had late night sessions. I would game 5 hours during the day, then take care of real life stuff and then start the late night session, so I guess I was gaming around 10-13 hours sometimes. (Yeah I'm pretty much a no lifer). But during the week I was merely gaming for 2 hours a day, sometimes even 2 hours a week. So I didn't use it intensely every single day.
I heard that the Deathadder is pretty reliable, not many people complain it. Too bad I can't say the same about the Mamba. I hope it lasts you a lifetime, after what I've been through with this mouse, man, I hope nobody has to experience this.
True that, everyone has a different experience with every brand. It's a matter of personal taste. As I said, my keyboard is almost 5 years old and it works just fine and my Kraken V1 it's also 3 years, almost 4 years old and works just fine. I replaced the earpads and the headband and that's it. This mouse was really nice, I was really satisfied with the perfomance and everything this mouse had to offer. It was like a perfect match, and now it's dead. Why? I can't tell. It's really a shame. At least if I could've get it repaired. I don't why every other product lasted so long and this one had to fail so soon.
Even I hate Razer a little bit now, when I think about the mouse.
It's just that it's very hard for me to let this mouse go since it really satisfied me - when it worked, that is...
I could very well buy another one, but I just wouldn't spend 100€ on a new one to have to buy another one after 2 years and so on. If they're not reliable it's not worth it and that's a shame. I'll look into other brands or buy another Razer mice that has a better reputation. Thanks for all the help, I really appreciate it.
Now, as a fun fact: I've been trying to get it to work for 2 hours and I was almost going to kill myself and I was really pissed. A few times it froze, not working at all, a few other times it was jumping up down and acting weird and at last it was working but still acting a little weird. I opened chrome to file a support ticket at Razer but it prove a real pain in the ass to use the mouse so I turned on my laptop to file the ticket from it. After I was done I thought about connecting the mouse to the laptop again and guess what, it worked without any problem. I used it for 15 minutes on the settings that were saved on the mouse since I didnt have Synapse installed on my laptop. Then I decided to install Synapse to see if it's something wrong with Synapse. Nope, it still worked. Now I connected it to my PC, to the same USB port it was always connected to and it works. It works like a charm without any single issue.
I'm pretty sure this proves that there was nothing wrong with my PC and that there's also nothing wrong with the sensor. I think this is pretty much a software issue, more like with the firmware and that Razer is really lazy to fix this. I can't really understand why it works now, I litterally did nothing, I just unplugged it from my PC and plugged into my laptop and all of a sudden works.
You know what's the sad part? That tomorrow morning, when I'll turn on my PC, the mouse will act all weird again because this is always happening. So, as far as I can see, my USB ports are working as supposed. Never had a problem with anything connected to any USB port except for the mouse.
Yeah. If you take well care with mouse, it might work lasting forever. My older laptop is 17 years old, still working. My vintage stereo is 45 years old.
