Gaming, but i was thinking of beginning with drawing characters/scenes again
144 hz - Acer can do 144hz but thats OC'd. Dell only does 120
Anti glare coating - Dells does have this too
Contrast Ratio is 50,000:1 where as Dell and Acer both only have 1,000:1
No speakers or USB or USB hub on the Asus but if you're gonna spend £2+ on a monitor I'm sure you'd have a decent speaker set up or decent heaphones. USB wise, plenrty of hubs you can get if you lack USB ports on your PC or just want them closer.
I have honestly been into the pgu27uq all this time but the price differs alot. i got a nice deal on the aw3418dw for 1000 eur but it arrives in 2 months from tommorow. The pg27uq is in stock everywere and so are the x27 but it's 1500 difference in price which basically is two aw3418's.
Btw, the pg27uq does 144hz overclocked too i think?
The Acer Pred and the Asus PG are 4K HDR where as the Dell doesn't have HDR and is 1440p. Yes the Dell is a wide 1440p but it is still 1440p.
4k, HDR screens, especially high refresh rate with G-sync are new displays. Up until recently 4K screens didn't have HDR and didn't exceed 60hz refresh rate.
The Asus PG is the best monitor out of the 3. The Acer Pred is 2nd and the Dell is last. If a wide 1440p display is suitable go with that. If you're prepared to spend £2k+ for a 4k HDR high refresh rate G-sync capable display spend a little more on the Asus PG.
Here's the full no bs answer:
ps: Make sure you have a Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti or better (RTX series) to juice it's performance, if you are even considering one of those already expensive puppies.
3440x1440 200 Hz 21:9 HDR 512 light zones
3840x2160 144 Hz 16:9 HDR 384 light zones
Yeah, the 4K screen do have more details and 144 Hz is likely enough of a bit rate. Then again the ultra wide is ultra wide and the lower pixel count will make it easier to hit a higher frame rate.
I already know he's preordered a RTX 2080Ti though so frame-rates will be as good as they can be currently and there exist things like DLSS and resolution scaling and such though I'd argue benefits in better details kinda are lost if you end up upscaling from a lower resolution.
The 4K may still be the superior option, then again I wouldn't hang myself up all that much on the details but rather the form factor one prefer as well. ... or wait for ultra-wide 2160p ;)
