For the Gigabyte B360 HD3 motherboard I downloaded and reviewed the manual for it.
In your bios go to: M.I.T. -> Advanced Frequency Settings
Under the Advanced Frequency Settings Sub-Menu near the bottom you will see:
Extreme Memory Profle (X.M.P.)
(Note)
Allows the BIOS to read the SPD data on XMP memory module(s) to enhance memory performance when
enabled.
Disabled Disables this function. (Default)
Profle1 Uses Profle 1 settings.
Profle2 (Note)
Uses Profle 2 settings.
It's quite a ways down, you'll need to scroll down to see it as it isn't visible until you move down a few times at the bottom of the screen.
Then also you go to: M.I.T. -> Advanced Memory Settings
The first option under Advanced Memory Settings is:
Extreme Memory Profle (X.M.P.)
(Note)
, System Memory Multiplier, Memory Ref Clock,
Memory Odd Ratio (100/133 or 200/266), Memory Frequency(MHz)
The settings above are synchronous to those under the same items on the Advanced Frequency Settings menu.
Your motherboard completely supports all Intel XMP Memory.
Also all memory tweaking settings are either greyed out or unclickable
Is this your motherboard? https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B360-HD3-rev-10
Then you might want to refer to the manual.. right there in the support page, it clearly shows all the memory settings.
I wonder if your ram just doesn't support XMP.. it should be there as an option in bios, according to the manual.
I'm trying to understand this. So.. your ram in your friend's Z370 board = XMP options disabled, in his Z370 board?
I guess you don't have Intel XMP ram then.. I wonder what ram you have. I thought most 2400 mhz ddr4 sticks should have XMP.
Makes no sense as my friend has the same ram...it has to be the motherboard model
