CPU Z Showing Wrong RAM speed
So I have 2*8GB Dual Channel ddr4 2400mhz ram and when i check on CPU Z to be sure everything is right in shows in the DRAM section 931.1 MHZ. now i know you are supposed to multiply it by 2 but 1862 doesnt come close to 2400. I asked my friend which has 2*8gb 2400mhz ram too and he told me his DRAM is 1200.....what could be the problem ? Everywhere else on my pc and command prompt it is writted that i have 2400mhz

Probably would be good to choose 2x8GB 2666Mhz
GoulactiX 26/out./2018 às 23:16
I can't oc to 2666 anyway so whats the point....should have gotten a z370

Intel 8th Gen natively supports up to 2666

For the Gigabyte B360 HD3 motherboard I downloaded and reviewed the manual for it.

In your bios go to: M.I.T. -> Advanced Frequency Settings
Under the Advanced Frequency Settings Sub-Menu near the bottom you will see:
Extreme Memory Profle (X.M.P.)
(Note)
Allows the BIOS to read the SPD data on XMP memory module(s) to enhance memory performance when
enabled.
Disabled Disables this function. (Default)
Profle1 Uses Profle 1 settings.
Profle2 (Note)
Uses Profle 2 settings.

It's quite a ways down, you'll need to scroll down to see it as it isn't visible until you move down a few times at the bottom of the screen.

Then also you go to: M.I.T. -> Advanced Memory Settings

The first option under Advanced Memory Settings is:

Extreme Memory Profle (X.M.P.)
(Note)
, System Memory Multiplier, Memory Ref Clock,
Memory Odd Ratio (100/133 or 200/266), Memory Frequency(MHz)
The settings above are synchronous to those under the same items on the Advanced Frequency Settings menu.

Your motherboard completely supports all Intel XMP Memory.

Sadly no..checked every corner of the bios no xmp in the menu you mention

Also all memory tweaking settings are either greyed out or unclickable

Yeah

Yeah

Then you might want to refer to the manual.. right there in the support page, it clearly shows all the memory settings.

I wonder if your ram just doesn't support XMP.. it should be there as an option in bios, according to the manual.

That the thing..my friend has identical ram as mine and his motherboard is z370 and it shows his xmp prfile in bios but when we switched to my sticks the xmp was stuck on disable and the option was unclickable.....very strange

I'm trying to understand this. So.. your ram in your friend's Z370 board = XMP options disabled, in his Z370 board?

I guess you don't have Intel XMP ram then.. I wonder what ram you have. I thought most 2400 mhz ddr4 sticks should have XMP.

Hyper x fury ddr4 2400mhz 2x8GB

Makes no sense as my friend has the same ram...it has to be the motherboard model

In CPUZ you have to add it. 1200+1200 is 2400 MHz. It's not showing the wrong speeds.

i bought through alli express
Kinda want to see hi-res photos of the RAM and the stickers on them now to see that you actually got what you think you bought.
