CPU Z Showing Wrong RAM speed
So I have 2*8GB Dual Channel ddr4 2400mhz ram and when i check on CPU Z to be sure everything is right in shows in the DRAM section 931.1 MHZ. now i know you are supposed to multiply it by 2 but 1862 doesnt come close to 2400. I asked my friend which has 2*8gb 2400mhz ram too and he told me his DRAM is 1200.....what could be the problem ? Everywhere else on my pc and command prompt it is writted that i have 2400mhz

specs :
gigabyte b360 hd3 lga1151v2
i7 8700k 3.70 ghz 12mb cache s1151v2 tray
antec neo eco 620C 620W active pfc 12cm PSU
kingston hyper x fury 2*8GB DDR4 2400mhz DIMM memory
evga gtx 770 Superclocked acx cooler 2gb gddr5
artic cooling frezzer 12 CPU fan
(Ignore the 'K' in my CPU )

Even MSI afterburner shows that my memory clock is 324MHZ
WTFFF ?
That memory clock in msi afterburner is gpu memory speed. No system memory.
And it slows down when youre not using it. So ignore it.

Have you enabled XMP in the BIOS?
GoulactiX Oct 26, 2018 @ 5:12am
Oh yeah my bad.....there is no XMP profile option in the bios...ive read it has something to do due to Hyper X having "build in" automatic timings or something like that
Cathulhu Oct 26, 2018 @ 5:16am
That male cow excrement, RAM can not do that.
And your mainboard does have XMP, enable it if you want to use the full speed of your RAM.
GoulactiX Oct 26, 2018 @ 5:16am
cant find that option . me and my friend "scanned" every menu

Enter the BIOS > EasyTune > Advanced DDR OC
GoulactiX Oct 26, 2018 @ 5:21am
any risk of that ?
Bad 💀 Motha Oct 26, 2018 @ 5:22am
Risk to what? This is how to set the XMP Profile and in-turn set the RAM to 2400Mhz
GoulactiX Oct 26, 2018 @ 5:22am
alright nevermind .....just thought because of the "OC"

No easytune in bios just easymode...clicked it and found easy oc but it was greyed out "not supported here "

Review the Motherboard Manual; it shows everything in there.
GoulactiX Oct 26, 2018 @ 5:37am
cpu z spd shows Max bandwidth : ddr4 2400 (1200mhz)
so.....do i have a problem or not im confused

The correct DRAM Frequency still has to be set in the BIOS in order for the RAM to operate @ 2400Mhz (i.e. 1200 x2)

It's not a variable clock like your CPU is.

In CPU-Z the Memory tab = what is active
SPD tab = what is possible

i can get into easy tune and advanced ddr oc vie Gigabyte APP Center ..(where i can customize alot of things and download utilities and update drivers)
BUT....under frequency i see that my defualt memory frequency is 24
and under that XMP setup Profile which is in "disable" and i cannot click on it to enable

my ddr according to the program is 1860mhz
