Screen going black for a few seconds randomly in games
While playing any games the screen will randomly turn black for a few seconds then turn back on, I have noticed though playing games in 144hz will trigger this to happen more and in rare cases the computer will crash to a blue screen. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks.

no dont get a new mobo, just new ram, in your bios, go to overclock settings which is how to access ram, via ram speed on auto, should have 3 options, 800mghz, 1333mghz or 1600mghz, but some 1333 or 1600 for maximum performance, choose 1600mghz good to go :) easy fix
We had just explained they were already running at 1600Mhz... it makes no difference as my computer automatically had it on 1600 the whole time during the crashes so the Mhz is most likely not the issue.
doesnt matter if you manually set it to 1600 if your running 1800mghz plus your mobo only supports 1600 peace and waiste cash on other things wont help

It doesn't matter if someone has 2133 mhz ram, or 2666 mhz ram or even 3000 mhz ram in a computer. When we manually set the ram to 1600 mhz in bios then it runs functionally the same as normal 1600 mhz ram. But then again, if you actually knew computers, you would of known that. And we've already established that the OP already had the ram at 1600 mhz this entire time and was still getting crashes. The ram's speed has -NOTHING- to do with the issues here..we've already explained that 3 times. Why are you even posting in here?

manually overclocking his system trying to make his mobo read it as 1600mhz is all. he has an unstable system is what i mean brother. imagne a honda civic with a v12 lamborghini engine, it wasnt made for it. adjusting hardware to make an unstable system go ahead be my guess man, thats a system with no durability is what your telling him to do :) you cant put something that wasnt built for it specifically into another product expecting 100% results that system is unstable and wont last peace out i have plenty of pcs with no problems lol and playing a game so excuse me yea? my pc aint the one crashing ;)

No one's overclocking anything. The board supports 1600 mhz ram and he's been running it at 1600 mhz. No one ever mentioned overclocking in this entire thread.

never said he did, what hes doing is manually overclocking ram no matter the speed he chooses lol for the fact the mobo wants 1600 stock! pc3 ram!

Their motherboard supports up to the I7-4770K. If they were using the 4770K, it supports up to 1600 mhz ram ddr3 as an official Intel factory supported option that is -NOT- overclocking. See here: https://ark.intel.com/products/75123/Intel-Core-i7-4770K-Processor-8M-Cache-up-to-3-90-GHz- Under the "Memory Specifications" section. Intel supports 1600 Mhz DDR3 for 4770K as a factory supported option. Using 1600 mhz ram on 4770K is -NOT OVERCLOCKING-.

It doesn't matter that they have 1866 Mhz ram. When it's manually set to 1600 mhz in the bios then it is running the same as normal 1600 mhz ram. No one is overclocking, no one is exceeding any factory specifications and everything is working 100% exactly at factory defaults as Intended by Intel and factory defaults by MSI, who made the motherboard.

That has nothing to do with anything, and memory speed has nothing to do with their issues here.

This thread is 6 years old, but I found it while experiencing the same problem, i.e. screen going black momentarily while gaming. I have a Gigabyte Aorus Z370 Ultra Gaming C-F motherboard, two 1Tb Western Digital Black NVMe SSDs (one for Windows and programs and one for games) plus a 2Tb HDD RAID volume for file storage, an Intel i7 8700K cpu, an AMD Radeon RX6700XT Eagle 12GB gpu (Gigabyte), 32 GB DDR4 RAM @ 1333 MHz and an Acer KG271U (2560x1440@144Hz) Monitor connected with the Acer-supplied DP cable. No components are overclocked. CPU and GPU both run under maximum load well within acceptable temperature ranges (CPU cooler is an all-in-one liquid cooler by Corsair). The GPU drivers are up to date (as are all, other drivers and firmware) and the system never crashes, so no BSOD ever. Just the annoying black screen for a few seconds every so often while playing PUBG. Having read this thread, I have now ordered a replacement after-market 1.5m DP cable and will report back to this thread once it is installed. Fingers crossed!

If you knew this thread was old then why did you reply to it and drag it up again? :steamfacepalm:

make your own thread

post full specs
hit the enter key to space it out

if its game specific, ask in the games forum

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
