Best bet with testing a Mic is loading by a simple recording app; even if just Sound Recorder; and then speaking at what you consider normal volume, then stop, then play it back for you to hear.
The mic slider option worked perfectly, just trying to figure out why I can't use it when connected through USB.
From what I read it seems to be a given with USB devices, somehow you need an analog connection for it to work. Oh well, thanks for reading!
Oh one more thing, will I miss out on anything quality wise if I just use the 3.5mm connector onboard, and not the USB soundcard?
