Everything that has a USB 3.0 connector.

Keyboard and mouse do not need any extra speed the USB 3.0 offers.

External HDD, which have USB3.0 connection, of course will work the best through USB 3.0.

USB 3.0 can deliver more power. That is one of the few excuses to use a keyboard or mouse on it. If the peripheral requires it that is, it's completely useless other wise.

Then you have to decide which USB 3.0 capable device is going to be occupying that port.

If you have a LED or RGB keyboard with USB 3.0 connectors it should have two of them. It will work fine on 2x USB 2.0 as well.

I doubt your mouse requires USB 3.0.

Plug in the drive.

USB 3.0/3.1 are for devices that need high transfer speeds; like External Storage Devices.

Keyboard / Mouse / Game Controller / Mic / Headset

are not one of those. Basically if it's not a storage device with specs rated for USB 3.0 or faster, then there is no "pro" to be gained by using on a 3.0/3.1 port. For other devices then it's just another 2.0 port.

Keyboard are generally never going to have USB 3.0 unless the Keyboard offers a built-in USB hub.

Are you sure? Inside will be blue if it's a USB 3. connector. I don't know of any Razer keyboards that use a USB 3 connection. Could be wrong, I'm not about to research all Razer devices.

What Razer keyboard do you have specifically?

Unless you plug a power hungry device into the passthrough port you don't need to connect that keyboard to a USB 3 port.
