Here's a video on how to add a second hard drive. I'm not sure what kind of bios this thing has, if it has a UEFI bios you should be able to use any hard drive of any capacity on the market.
Although instead of all these modifications he's doing, you could just pull out and replace the original 1TB with say a 2TB or larger. May have to re-install windows, I'm not sure where windows goes on these things, I've never worked on one before. Windows might go on the SSD(s) with the mechanical used for storage (most probably).
EDIT: It's nice to see a laptop like this that supports windows 7.. I'll add that to my win7 laptop list, yay.
I’d rather not replace though, I’d like to add one. Also my laptop was released in feb 2017 and I see his is a 2015 model. It’s much more different isn’t it? I’ll see if I can somehow attach a picture
I can't find any videos on the GT72VR, but this was GT72.. probably pretty close? Sorry if it doesn't work, I'm just trying to help.
