Good deal on the Logitech G413[www.amazon.com], the sale price puts it right within your budget.

I do not like today's gaming keyboards. They can be very pricey and in my opinion are nothing more than a fancy cheap keyboard with some kind of processing ability with dumb background lights. I like the older and very solid IBM keyboards from the late 1990's. Yes the one with the old round connector in back. They have a very positive key stroke feel and last forever. My opinion.

I dunno, some of the Filcos came pretty close IMO.

A company in China is making faithful replicas now, from the original blueprints and with as many original dies and castings as possible. The PCB is modern and they're USB compatible, but in all other respects they're a newly made IBM Model M. You might want to track one down :)

Austin Evans did a review of that ibm keyboard. Supposedly it was one of the best keyboard ever made. Just looks kinda dull and not as sharp as today’s.

I have tried a total of two gaming keyboards and both were junk compared to the old IBM style keyboard. One of those gaming keyboards is still sitting in my garage as a back up and yes it has those annoying dumb background lights with all the unnecessary extra keys and some sort of spinning knob but the board itself is cheap, period. I do not like the feal of sponge while pressing keys when I game. There will be no convincing those brought up in the twenty first century because they want the glitter and fall for the fancy ads.

There is one problem with those old IBM keyboards when it comes to gaming, they dont have the feature that enables to press multiple keys at once without ghosting.
For typing yes they were excellent keyboards but for modern competitive gaming not so much.

Corsair K70s usually go on sale around this pricepoint.

I think you have boards like the G105[www.amazon.com] or something like this[www.amazon.com] that are membrane boards.

Boards like the K552[www.amazon.com] use Outemu/Goate branded MX clone "blue" type of clicky switch that comes pretty close to the action of the buckling-spring switches the old IBMs had.
