Lag with new monitor
So I was playing games with ultra, 1080p with the screen on my laptop and was frequently getting 80+ fps while playing games. Recently I bought a new desk, with my laptop hdmi-ing to my new monitor. For some reason, this has been causing problems. I keep getting noticeable lag, even my fps counter in my top right corner says otherwise. My new monitor is 75 hz, so i don't see a reason for why this is happening. Then, to reduce lag, i put my games in 1600 x 900 resolution, and it is completely fine (100+ fps and looks good on monitor). I have been playing through it but I am getting tired of playing my games at a low resolution. Anyone?

Post the make and model of the monitor you're using.

Acer KG271 bmiix 27" Full HD (1920 x 1080) TN Monitor with AMD FREESYNC Technology (2 x HDMI & VGA Port)

And the lag is playable in 1080p, just bothersome

That's the monitor ^, post the specs on the laptop ie make model/cpu/gpu/ram???

Ps, turn on steams FPS counter in steam options so you see what your fps is when it stutters.

In my theory, could be just that the laptop screen is still the maim screen and is locked to 60hz, so Your monitor is too? I dunno...
