500w PSU on this rig
AMD Ryzen 5 1600

16,0GB Dual-Channel DDR4 at 2933mhz

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti

I've been using this rig for a long time with a 500w Power Supply.
Would wanna know if the 500w Power Supply is going to need a replacement soon if i would wanna do things like overclock anything or run heavier gear. i have a couple of good deals on EVGA SuperNova G2's with watts around 650 to 850.

If you've been running that 500watt for a while with that system you should be fine.

It all depends on the quality of the power supply.

Ive had a cheap 800watt power supplies blow up with a gtx 760, but a decent old school Antec 430watt power a gtx 780ti with no problems.

I still have that PSU, Antec TruPower 430watt, thing has been used in so many systems now.

Seasonic is a quality brand, one of the few who actually manufacture their own power supplies, many others simply outsource, so you are good. I have a seasonic 750, costs a little more but its worth it. Component quality and efficiency matter. EVGA is definitely a tier below.

Even the best have bad ones. And while the one OP has was decent back in around 2010, it's not up to modern specs.
By today's standards, it is a Tier 4 psu. (as it's about same psu as the S12II psus)

Within limits of course, he didn't say what he exactly wanted to run with it.
Iv got near enough same build apart from Iv got ryzen 2600 which is same wattage anyway and I use a 550w power supply, even running rift I use no where near that. You will be fine with that

...Seasonic SS-500ET...
The SS series were awesome for the price back in the day, have many 300w ~ 400w units still chugging along in HTPCs, NAS and other low power builds when sale prices were not available. Almost as good as a Delta OEM :) Anyhow, checking out the label says it has +12v@408W combined max (typical Seasonic, gotta love their signature high +12v capacity!)

A typical 2600 (eXtreme PSU calc does not have the 1600, gofigure) rig w/ a 1070ti calcs out to 405w min / 455w recommended[outervision.com], and the fact that your +12v capacity alone can power that rig it will most likely work without any problems.

The negatives:

- The age of the unit does degrade the total capacity very slightly over time

- Transient power spikes will occur as the power load shifts during high load, and will most likely age the unit even faster than before

So overall if you want to use it, no problem you will be good to go - although it would be good to replace it at some point, and keep it on the shelf as a spare - you never know, you may need it for a bench test unit, an HTPC, fileserver or whatever else that may come your way in the future.

He did tho and is currently.
It all reads right in the opening post:

Ryzen 5 1600
GTX 1070TI.
