Best APU?
Comment but don't say 2400g. I have it. I'm interested on APUs now.

Are you asking about the Bristol Ridge APUs? In that case, it would be the AMD A12-9800.

It's also available in a lower clocked 35W TDP version, the A12 9800E, which is somewhat interesting in that it can be passively cooled with an Arctic Alpine AM4 heatsink. It MIGHT be possible to use that chip and heatsink for a silent build, if combined with a fanless PSU and a well ventilated case. MIGHT. It also might run unreliably, or rapidly fail.

I'm not recommending these chips or any of the other hardware mentioned, nor would I recommend any pre-ZEN microarchitecture AMD chip, just trying to answer your question, and offer the only justifaction I can think of for using one of these chips instead of the 2nd Gen Ryzen G chips.

If you're gaming, APU's aren't the way to go. Investing in a good dedicated graphics card you'll be better off in the long run.

Actually, the Vega RX on the 2200G and 2400G can do the gaming fine. They are a good choice for budget gaming. Of course, if there is space in the budget, dedicated graphics should be added.

2400G's RX Vega 11 is about equal to GT 1030 which is the first GT series card actually able to play games decently enough to be considered.
