Logitech gaming software not detecting my G29

Has anyone else had this problem and founf a fix? Been to Logitech support and that was a waste of time. There are several others on there with the same problem and nobody is getting any help with it. It detects my gaming mouse and keyboard but won't detect my wheel.

Hi Guys

I think I cracked the problem on my Machine.

First go to devices and uninstall the G29 driver, mark the checkbox to remove the driver if shown. (sometimes my G29 was shown as an 'HID Game device')

Unplug the device from the system.

Then Go into 'C:\Program Files\Logitech Gaming Software\Drivers\LGJoyHid'

right click 'LGJoyHid.inf' and select install

do the same for 'C:\Program Files\Logitech Gaming Software\Drivers\LGJoyHid\WinUSB\LGJoyWinUsb.inf'

And plug in the device again.
After that the G29 appeared in LGS for me.

This worked for me. Issue occurred after a windows update if anyone's interested

Nope no issues with my G920 (which its the same as as G29).

Is Windows detecting it when you plug in the usb cable? It should show up in device manager under Human Interface Devices.

Try plugging your G29/G920 into a USB 2.0 Port, not a 3.0 one.

Modern motherboards don't even have any usb 2.0 ports anymore.

Yes they do, mine has 4 2.0 and 4 3.0 USB ports. Got the problem fixed after posting this. Logitech couldn't help me fix it so they made it compatible with Ghub. Then after that they made it permanent because they had more people with the same problem.

Well again... MANY DO NOT.

Intel 10th and 11th gen and AM4 X570 boards typically do not have them. Why? Because we don't need them.

It often can be some issue with front case ports perhaps. Best to use rear motherboard ports when you can.

Slightly old thread, but thought I'd put it out there:
If you've already installed LGHUB on your computer, at least for me the wheel was under a seperate dropdown window in device manager called "LGHUB *something*"

Uninstalling LGHUB completely did the trick for me, felt slightly stupid after I did it :P

LGHUB didn't even have to be running at all to steal the device

I just got my G29 steering wheel, had issues with it, the wheel wouldn't spin when installed or anything, tried multiple different video fixes from deleting the drivers from regedit, reinstalling over and over and nothing worked. Then i switched my plug socket from a surge protection to a regular plug socket and it now works perfectly fine (Maybe my surge protection plug wasn't working right) but it obviously wasn't getting enough power to power the wheel, anyway hope this helps someone else who has a similar issue.

I don't have issue with my G29. I was playing on Forza Horizon 4 and 5.
You need latest GHub.
If your G29 is not new one, you may need to update firmware.

I just connected wall outlet for power.

Win10/11 don't use LGS anymore; it's outdated and no longer supported.
Use Logitech GHub. It's been this way since around 2018 or so.

I personally still use LGS, I find it much better than GHub.. In 2020 when I bought my G29 I installed GHUB and wondered why my wheel didn't work correctly [ Windows 10 ]

lgs is better than ghub
but lgs does not support newer devices

you can install both, just need to backup lgs if you have it installed, then uninstall and install ghub, then lgs

disable ghub from startup, and only run it to config devices with onboard memory profiles

G29 has a few different firmware revsions.
The original works with LGS, the others must use GHub
