Lag on 4k Youtube videos
Like the title says I get very low fps on 4k and even 2k videos on youtube. This wasn't always an issue, I used to be able to run 4k videos 60fps with no frame drops. I wanna say like 5 months ago it started dropping alot of fps (I use magic action for youtube to see fps drops). Some people say its the video player that google uses but I don't remember changing anything in my google settings to affect the player. If anyone can help and solve the fps issue I would be very happy.

System: Gtx 1070 - AMD FX 8350X - 16gb DDR3 Ram - SSD Boot drive
Note: It can't be my cpu since I could watch 4k 60fps just fine with the same cpu.

If you have GPU acceleration disabled; enable it.

LOL then something wrong; even my old FX-6300 w/ GTX 780 runs YouTube @ 4K/60 without tearing at all, and hardware accel in Chrome IS off

On an 8350 build I did though, it lagged, it was cause of the poor onboard realtek lan.
Installed a Gigabyte PCIE WiFi card (has Intel chipset onboard) and that ran WAY better.

There is no "video player" it plays the videos directly through HTML5, not Flash

Try temp disable all your 3rd party Chrome plugins, except for AdBlock
Then re-try a 4K video. Don't need no FPS counter, if u get screen-tearing, the video is lagging.
