Decent coolers like that come with decent thermal paste included also.
So you shouldn't have a need to purchase more simply for a single re-application.
Be sure to clean off the CPU surface with Isopropyl Alcohol before installing new paste & cooler.
If that PC is dusty, this will be a good time to give it a good cleaning and blow out all the dust.
When removing the old cooler, be careful and while doing so, apply a bit of twisting motion before pulling it off the CPU; to help ensure the CPU does not get yanked out of the socket.

thanks. i am going to do a bit of cleaning to my pc when my new gpu arrives. buying the cpu cooler will happen in the near future sometime.

btw i went with the CRYORIG - H7 since its cheaper in australia.
Yes its good cooler. H7 should be more than beefy enough for your CPU, as it's good enough even for FX-8/FX-9 series of CPUs as well, which put out alot more heat in comparison to any Phenom II series CPU.

Here it is unpacked:

Here it is installed:

Best to remove your RAM before the actual cooler install.
Once cooler is installed, then clamp on the fan and connect to CPU fan header.
Then reinstall the RAM.

Yes not a problem, just remove RAM from slot#1 during the whole install, it makes getting the Fan clipped on and such much easier. The cooler won't get in the way of RAM once fully installed, then simply re-insert the RAM fully until it clips down all the way.

Good amount of dust, time to break out the blower :csgoanarchist:

thanks! yes i do need to clean the dust. that maybe why my computer has been so, sooo loud.
and the amount of dust could also be because i have no io shield. it got lossed.

Well to be honest, those stock coolers that always shipped with AM2/AM3 CPUs never were any good. They are loud cause they are worked to the bone due to being so small. A nice tower cooler will have you running much cooler (probably 45-50*C max; unlike the stock cooler) and also run much quieter since it is a 120mm fan that doesn't need high RPMs to cool better then a smaller fan.

it should be a nice upgrade. might even overclock the cpu a bit when i order the Cryorig H7.
