i7 7700k compatible ram and upgrade help
so iv been trying to find info on this as im looking to upgrade but, i cant seem to get my head around it. i currently have two HyperX FURY Series 8GB DDR3 1600MHz CL10 DIMM Memory Module - Blue. would this be compatible with the i7-7700k.

i currently have Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790K CPU @ 4.00GHz (8 CPUs), ~4.0GHz and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070. I have an ASUS all series motherboard but im not sure which one.

Any and all feed back would be appreciated

No, not really. The i7 7700 only uses ddr4 and so it's incompatible with ddr3 ram. In fact ddr3 modules won't even fit into most motherboards that support the i7 7700k and so, no. It's would be possible.

so then what would be a good upgrade over my current processor that would still be compatible with ddr3 and/or what would you recommend for a total upgrade?

You still have one of the best gaming CPUs on the market, you don't really need to upgrade it.

I believe there are one or two motherboards that can use ddr3 and the sixth Ben that might work with the 7700k, but the safe answer is, no it's not compatible, you'll also need a new board as it's a different socket to the 4790k, beyond that, there really isn't much of a performance gain making the swap, just overclock the 4790k or jump to 8th gen or ryzen with ddr4.

OK thanks guys for the info, i appreciate it
For the price of getting a 7700k or coffe lake system you may as well just upgrade your GPU (assuming you dont have a high end one) to a GTX 1080 which would be equivical in cost
