4k hdmi not working
Hi, so yesterday i bought a new samsung UA40MU6100 4K UHD. And when i try to connect the pc to tv. It didn't work. The tv keeps reconnecting. After 3 tries it didn't work. After that I try connecting the tv to my laptop which is asus rog strix gl553vd. And tweak the resolution to 1080 and the refresh rate to 60Hz, it worked. The next day i test it again to my pc. And when i tweak the resolution to 1080p 60Hz, it works. But when I turn it to 4k even 60Hz and 30Hz, it didn't work. It should be work at 60Hz right. So I'm currently work in 1080p. And my current monitor maximum res is 900p. So when i try turn on hdmi uhd color, the display turns of and the tv seems try to reconnect, but more worse than usual. I immediately stop the uhd color and the desktop on my monitor gets glitchy(displays no wallpaper and the icons gets glitchy). Its gone when i restart my pc. I done this again, but same thing happened and gone when i restart my pc again. I don't wanna do this again fear that it will kill my GPU or worse my computer might bricked. Can you tell me how can i turn my pc display to 4K? My GPU on my pc is ASUS STRIX GTX1060DC2O6G. Is it my tv that's a problem, or is it my pc?

I wonder if it is cable related? do you have a different HDMI cable you can try, preferably a hdmi 2.0 cable.
1060 to weak for 4k

Lies. It may not perform graphic intense games well at 4k but it can output 4k. I agree with post #1. It is likely due to the HDMI cable not being a version 2 cable.
I've running 4k since gtx 680, it is not too weak. For intense games, of course, but not for your 2d stuff. Yes I'm gonna have to lean on a low spec hdmi cable as your issue here
I had the same issue, and it was the cable i was using, changed that and worked right away
