actually you should go for the 2700k since the performance difference between the 2700k and 3770k is about 4% unless the 3770k is cheaper

Don't buy either new and only second hand if it's a good price seeing as it's pretty damn old now, also, depending on your motherboard it might be a waste even getting the K model if you can't overclock it, at which point you are better off putting the money into a new build.

I currently have an i7 3770 (not the 3770k) and it runs games perfectly. Pair it with the right GPU and you're set for most games.

As everyone says, the i7-3770k. It will depend if your motherboard can let you overclock. If not then the i7-3770 seems the best bet.
