Headphones have a crackling sound/ looking for product.
I have a pair of beyerdynamics dt770 pro’s, and they are GREAT but I wanted to adjust the bass levels a bit in windows mixer, so I did along with other things. But now no matter what auxiliary port I plug my headphones into on my tower it makes a crackling sound. When I plug my headphones in my phone or the back of my monitor there is no crackling sound, however I can adjust any of my settings in the equalizer as it doesnt give me the option. So im assuming its not my headphones, its something with an audio card ?? Maybe?? Idk anything about audio, but im just looking for confirmation on this topic.

Also I remember hearing about some kind of box you can plug into your PC to your headphones that will get rid of the crackling sounds but I forgot what they are called. Amplifer maybe ? I feel like it wasnt that but idk. Anyway, can anyone remind what these are called and if so drop a recommendation for one ?

I did a horrible job explaining my situation, im not good at this whole asking for help thread making thing.

I had this issue with an older computer. It happened to every pair of headphones I owned, it also seemed to get worse as the CPU usage got higher.
Technically, your monitor headphone port is using the HDMI audio so it is a different sound card that is on your motherboard (it's using the GPU's audio driver) so that is why it does not have the same noise as when you plug into your front or rear panel jacks.

It is actually pretty common for on-board audio to have noise issues, you can also get any USB sound card to resolve or since you have a decent headphone consider bumping up and getting a decent DAC / AMP like the Fiio E10k, your audio should improve substantially.

I was able to tinker with the equalizer and get my levels to a decent sound without the crackling but it just blows that I cant really "unleash the full potential" ill still look into get an amp, I was looking at the Fiio E10k, idk anything about amps but its kinda pricey. But hey if its worth it, then its worth it. I might get it.

edit - nvm crackling isnt gone 100% but its not as bad.
