I would RMA the motherboard. If you don't want to go through all that you could buy a DAC.
It's not that it's beeping. The sound that's coming out is kind of like a high pitch whine. I tried a lot of different sound outputs. My Razer Leviathan Speakers output the same thing as my Razer Electra headset (I have a thing for Razer gear).
Anyway, I get the same freaking noise no matter what I do.
It's coil whine.
*open your case / case panel and try to locate the source of the noise.
I'm 100% sure that the sound isn't coming from my PC. It's coming from the audio source, and I suspect that it has something to do with the on board audio for my motherboard. I opened my PC case and everything just to make sure, launched up a game to double check if my graphics card was making noise while under stress, but there was no pitch change, and the sound is coming from my audio outputs.
It's pretty weird, because i can only hear this one note, and nothing else plays. Like if I were to play music, I wouldn't be able to hear any of it. Instead, I would hear that same whine on a constant pitch playing.
From my experience with various pc cases, the audio jack on the front always degrades audio quality or introduces static/buzzing.
most likely its coil whine if its not coming from any audio source
And the most likely source is that old GTX 560.
Gpus tend to start doing it more/louder when they get old.
Other choice is power supply.
I actually tried both just in case. Neither worked.
My PSU is this: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151095
I realize now that I may have skimmped a little on it, but I don't think that that's the problem here.
Okay. So, I really don't think it's coil whine. BUT, I did a few tests just to be sure.
So being that it's an old GPU, I fired up some graphics demanding games to see if the audio changed. This included Fallout 4, Saints Row: Gat Outta Hell, and Rocket Leauge. Here's what I noticed.
Every time that my computer had to display something that would show up laggy, the pitch from my headphones would rise up. If I looked at the sky in Fallout 4, which demands the least amount of graphics, the pitch would be low, and barely audible. This happened in the other games as well.
However, the noise is DEFINETLY and 100% not coming out of my computer's hardware. It is coming directly from my speakers and my headphones. I did some research and saw that normal coil whine comes from the GPU or PSU itself, so I'm not really sure what we're actually dealing with here.
So I guess my only hope here would be buying a new GPU, and I'm thinking about settling for a GTX 1080 Founder's Edition. I kind of need an upgrade anyway, I can barely run Just Cause 3.
Still, I just want to solve this problem, so if anyone has any more suggestions, I would be really grateful. :)
do you still hear the sound?
But hardware u know, never say never. But no, u r fine since it's not the psu.
Hm..
Maybe it's electro magnetic radiation related.
Maybe some stuff is to close to part x.
What about your sound settings? Maybe a win uppdate broke something.
I'm rly out of ideas tbh.
