4k 60hz or 2k 165hz

So i want to buy a new monitor ,there is two that i like , one have 4k display with 60hz , the other 2k display with 165 hz ,

my system:
1080 gtx strix oc 11gb
16gb ram
i7 6700k 3,4 ghz

some people said you should buy 4k because your system is enough , but some say you will have a lag when playing some game in 4k , so i'm considering the 2k 165 hz , they both asus rog brand .

I recommend 2K 165hz for GTX 1080. Yep, definitetly.

1080 11gb doesn't exist. Only the ti has 11gb.

Anyway, if it's only gaming and you play mostly stuff like shooter, buy a decent 1440p ips screen with 144hz or more.

If that's a 1080 ti and the 4k monitor you're looking at has gsync and you don't play competitive FPS games I would go with 4K G-sync.

If you play mostly competitive FPS games go with the 1440p 165hz.

In that case I would go with the 4k gsync.

Buy a decent 4k Screen.

Be careful with ASUS ROG 2K monitors. Most of them have backlight bleeding problem.

id go 1440p still, things like ff15 will cry and break down at 4k unless you turn things down, and higher refresh is much smoother, for me, that is a better result than a higher res with lower settings, but, really , only you can decide which camp you fall into, if possible, see if you can see a high refresh monitor and a 4k monitor playing the same game and see which you prefer.

Tn Panel Vs Ips For 4k Gaming Monitor

whats the difference between these two , are ips Better Than Tn Panel these days ??

i would prefer 2k 165 hz, because then you won't have to buy new pc, if your 4k games can't be played anymore imho.

IPS panels are better for color/image and viewing angles.
Tn is fasert, but at a cost of color and angles.

Wouldn't buy a 4k screen without ips tbh.

2K 165hz is the sweet spot if you ask me.

My first 4k panel was a TN, I sold it pretty quick for IPS. I'm rocking a Acer Predator XB271HK right now and it's great.

sadly the 2k 165 hz is still Tn panel , while the 4k is Ips ,

Asus Rog pg27aq or acer predaror xb271hk , they both ips and have gsync ,
