How to enable hardware virtualisation?

As title. the latest build of kaspersky internet security keeps bugging me to enable it but then says that its disabled on my system. As far as I know, the i7 7700k supports this, but I have no idea how to enable it or if I even should.

would that have an impact on performance since the meltdown patch? I know VMs were hit by it hard.

KIS uses a virtual machine to isolate the browser to make purchases safer (or so it claims). No idea if that counts.

i know now that this is for VM (virtual machines) running on an intel pc with for example windows.
am i right? i think so...

KIS uses a virtual machine to isolate the browser to make purchases safer (or so it claims). No idea if that counts.

It's not virtualizing a full computer with an operating system and it's not doing any heavy workloads, you will not notice the Spectre and Meltdown patches at all. This sandboxing feature is very light weight.

And it might not even use speculative execution. I can't find anything online to confirm or deny this.

That is normal. It's disabled by default on all mobos.

where do you find it? in the advanced settings under cpu I assume?

It should be somewhere under advanced settings. It might also go under another name such as Intel VT.
