DNS server is not responding
Sometimes when I download a large game on Steam my wifi stops working and I get "DNS server is not responding" then I have to disable the wifi adapter and enable it then it works. I know it's not a steam issue. But does anyone know the problem and how to fix it?
I've tried all the ipconfig commands and it hasn't done anything.

Change your primary and secondary DNS Servers then.

I did change it to google's DNS server and it also hasn't changed.
That would be your problem then...
I've tried other DNS servers and none have helped

Contact your ISP first.

Did you try Cloudfare? 1.1.1.1 & 1.0.0.1

In addition to contacting ISP, check for a firmware update on your wireless router.

The DNS server simply has a list of alll the IP addresses for all websites which have names assigned to them. For example ESPN.com has the IP address 18.233.117.205. Every PC on the internet has an IP address including you. The only difference is yours is not named and not on the DNS server. So while your traffic goes both ways just like any website. You are more hidden. So without access to a DNS server you basically have no access to the internet. If you type Yahoo.com in to your browser without a DNS server you cannot actually access Yahoo. The browser has no way to actually access that server without the IP address. The internet itself only understands that IP address. Actual names to websites is only there to make it easy for human beings. Imagine having to remember all those numbers.

You might fix it by changing your primary and secondary DNS servers.

Actually i have changed my DNS servers just because the ones I have set are a little faster than my ISPs servers. Since you use them ever time you access a webpage regradless of where that webpage is its in you best interest to have the fastest severs for your location that you can. I also set a primary, secondary, and tertiary. Incase the primary is down. By default your ISP only sets one DNS.

For anyone interested in doing that here is a good utility for testing all the DNS servers near you times to your location.

Change DNS server settings for the router and in Windows. A lot of people forget that a device can bypass a router DNS setting.

I know all that. I work in IT. I just don't understand why when I am downloading a big game on steam my internet stops working and I get this error. Then I have to disable then enable my wifi adapter.
But on my other PC the internet keeps working. So that means the problem is with the wifi adapter on my gaming PC, but I don't know what. Probably the driver is ♥♥♥♥♥♥. I tried to upgrade but the one installed is the current one.
In my past I had to ensure I made changes to my router as an Admin, and set the dns in the router and in Windows. Something to do with flushing it?

or set the router to use 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4 (google dns)
1.1.1.1 is not bad either

you can set them per pc, but on the router is best so all connected use it

if you can do multiples
1. 8.8.8.8
2.1.1.1.1
3. isp default

then if one fails it falls back to differnet dns service

flushing dns is client side, it helps if internet domain ip changes or dns gives wrong ip, but so does rebooting the pc

what domain are you having trouble with?
have you try pinging it?

edit: if the wifi is disconnecting, the dns server will be unavailble until it reconnects

check the wifi settings
use an android phone/tablet and get wifi analizer
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.farproc.wifi.analyzer&hl=en_US
then change the wifi channel on the router to something not used by others nearby
