And truly, theres really nothing you can do with an XP computer.
So what you can do is this
See what Ethernet card and soundcard the PC uses
If it offers Win10 drivers for both, you could just install whats basically the Free Win10 onto it instead of dealing with crappy XP
All youd need is an 8GB flash drive, then install Win10 onto it via the tool, and just do a clean install.
Customization settings like wallpaper and such will be locked, but everything else is fully functional.
That should help you out
really depends on the specs of that PC though how well it'll do as a whole

What are your system specs? (And good job thinkong about ur nana!)
I have a similar P4 3ghz HT workstation with a quadro at my parents house running Debian but if you're new to linux check out Lubuntu[lubuntu.net] it's a bit easier to get up and running - might find it quite a fun project.
