What is the content of the Bluescreen? It should show a STOP code and other information.

isn't windows xp no longer supported by steam?

It say "STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error} The windows subsystem process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000005 (0x7c9106c3 0x0069ec24). The system has been shut down." That's exactly what it says.

After 12 years, support for Windows XP ended April 8, 2014. Microsoft will no longer provide security updates or technical support for the Windows XP operating system. It is very important that customers and partners migrate to a modern operating system such as Windows 10.

XP hasnt been supported for years

And truly, theres really nothing you can do with an XP computer.

So what you can do is this

See what Ethernet card and soundcard the PC uses
If it offers Win10 drivers for both, you could just install whats basically the Free Win10 onto it instead of dealing with crappy XP

All youd need is an 8GB flash drive, then install Win10 onto it via the tool, and just do a clean install.

Customization settings like wallpaper and such will be locked, but everything else is fully functional.

That should help you out

really depends on the specs of that PC though how well it'll do as a whole

Thanks

We need more detail on the computer specs. Steam DOES still support XP, but it also requires a modern cpi that has things like SSE instructions. It wont, for example, install under any conditions onto pentium 1 or 2 chips...

Not sure about P3's...

What are your system specs? (And good job thinkong about ur nana!)

yeah, you wont be doing much with that bud, even if you install Win10, which it may not even be able to handle Win10 with those specs.

Does it have an Nvidia Quadro GPU installed? If so consider linux on that, would run pretty well with openGL. Unfortunately steam does no longer support the 32-bit linux version although there are some half-way decent free and semi-free ones that are available for free in the repositories like Urban Terror, Open Arena, Enemy Territory, Xonotic, World of Padman, Savage 1 & 2, the "Cube" based FPS games (really fast!), Tremulous... those and more would run great on that quadro if you have it.

I have a similar P4 3ghz HT workstation with a quadro at my parents house running Debian but if you're new to linux check out Lubuntu[lubuntu.net] it's a bit easier to get up and running - might find it quite a fun project.

This indicates a temperature related issue. Monitor the temperature of your CPU and videocard while idle and while being under load.
