Is 350 Watts enough for a GTX 1050?
As title says, I want to upgrade my PC

My specs are:

Motherboard: CM6330-CM6630-CM6730-CM6830

CPU: Intel Core i5-3450 CPU @ 3.10 GHz

RAM: 6GB

GPU: GT 630

Even if the GTX 1050 doesn't work, any suggestions on other GTX GPU's? I don't really play games that are too graphically heavy. Max I have I think is Dying Light BUT I would like to play Witcher 3 and possibly Rainbow 6 Siege and have either stable or well over 60 fps.

Yes it's enough, should draw about as much power as your GT 630.

Oddly just having a convo with someone else about this, the best conclusion we came up with was that a 1050 4GB Ti has a reccomended PSU of 400w.

The main question that needs to be asked is how old is the PSU ? and what make/model is it ?

The thing is cheap shoddly PSU's rarely put out the power they claim to and as a PSU ages it's max output also diminishes.

If it's a high quality PSU and less than 3 years old and as long as your don't have a dozen drives and fans you should be ok. That said the older the PSU gets the more likely you are to encounter an overload.

My PC is like 4 years old and it's still untouched, it has only one fan.

The name of the PSU is HBA005-ZA1GT 350, there's a part where it says "Total Wattage 286.4W"

Technically speaking most 1050 won't draw more power than your 630. It looks like a low quality PSU at any rate, change PSU just in case.

Thats a cheap Chinese grey rotbox of a PSU, if its 4 years old and the mini req for a 1050 is 300w, I would seriously consider a replacement PSU before GPU.

A GT630 also has min requirement 300w, it is the same as a GTX 1050. No it won't be exploding right after OP put in the new card, though I can't guarantee in the long run as the PSU could be on its last legs by now.

Thanks man, I guess I'll upgrade both my PSU and GPU in the near future.
