144Hz Monitor won't show 144hz
hellow, I have an AOC G2460P Monitor, and it says it can run at 144hz.
I have a Nvidia GTX 970 Strix GPU, which should also be able to run 144hz.
And i just got a Display Cable 1.2 that can run 21,6 GB/s.

So do anyone have an idea, why I can't seem to get it to run at 144hz?

all my drivers are up to date.

Yea what was confusing is their DataSheet on this model.
As there is AOC G2460P and AOC G2460PGU
Both have very similar specs; however the PGU is a little better and also allows 144Hz via DP
But their DataSheet speaks for both "P" and "PGU" which is why it was confusing

As I have said this already before, OP has the older model. Some older monitor even has HDMI as the ONLY CABLE for 144Hz.

Wonderful Wild Wild West of 1080p 144Hz.

Best to use the cable come with the monitor.

144Hz requires the use of the DVI-D or DP
^This. No magic, no BS, no trickery, just plain and simple. Doesn't take a rocket scientist especially when given answer by the physical / digital manual.

If something wrong with Video drivers just do what I said.

If problem with monitor get a new one, or exchange it if still within the store return policy, if not, then you RMA it, and they'll test the monitor out, and ensure it working for you, but if they find an issue they will fix it for you, or give you a replacement simple as that.

No it says DVI-D and DP
I got this directly from AOC

I just plugged in the DVI Cable I got with the screen and now it works at 144Hz. so I guess This screen is only DVI 144 Hz, but its weird to make like that? But Thank you all so much for the help and insight !

My suggestion would be return the screen and buy a better one.
DVI has faded and even more GPUs now are tossing that in favor of more HDMI & DP ports.
Pretty soon it will be gone entirely with maybe the exception of lower end budget GPUs, for compatibility reasons of Office Users.

@Bad:Motha, I doubt they'll take it back, I bought in 5 years ago..

but with the DVI it's working with 144 Hz so that's fine for me

How have you only just noticed this issue after 5 years?....
Mojopete 15/fev./2018 às 5:48
Becasue I just gor Rainbow 6 Siege, and it didn't have the 144 Hz option, else i've played Counterstrike which said I had like 300 FPS but i didn't see the difference from 60, so I just figured it really didn't matter to have more then 60, but one of my friends got R6S too and he had the option for 144 Hz, And so i wanted it too (:

WTF what kind of logic is that? Well next time you buy something make sure the product do what it suppost to do, or make sure the software isn't the issue as well.

Well something wrong with the monitor if you can't access 144hz with DP, but at least you got one thing working on it.

Optimal Resolution Recommended 1920x1080@144Hz (144Hz requires DisplayPort capable gfx card or DVI-Dual Link)

Enable the 144Hz in Windows first.
Then in games, ensure they are set to Full-Screen, then change the game refresh

http://www.aocmonitorap.com/upload_files/manual/G2460PQU/English.pdf here is the Manual for the monitor i'm using, look at page 47.
rotNdude 16/fev./2018 às 10:36
This is copied and pasted from the manual

HD(DVI only)
1920×1080@100Hz 113.3 100
1920×1080@110Hz 125.1 110
1920×1080@120Hz 137.2 120
1920×1080@144Hz 158.1 144

There are no other entries for that monitor that support other ports @ 144Hz.
