144Hz Monitor won't show 144hz
hellow, I have an AOC G2460P Monitor, and it says it can run at 144hz.
I have a Nvidia GTX 970 Strix GPU, which should also be able to run 144hz.
And i just got a Display Cable 1.2 that can run 21,6 GB/s.

So do anyone have an idea, why I can't seem to get it to run at 144hz?

all my drivers are up to date.

Yea what was confusing is their DataSheet on this model.
As there is AOC G2460P and AOC G2460PGU
Both have very similar specs; however the PGU is a little better and also allows 144Hz via DP
But their DataSheet speaks for both "P" and "PGU" which is why it was confusing

As I have said this already before, OP has the older model. Some older monitor even has HDMI as the ONLY CABLE for 144Hz.

Wonderful Wild Wild West of 1080p 144Hz.

Best to use the cable come with the monitor.

Right-Click on Desktop and Left-Click NVIDIA Control Panel > change resolution at the Display sub-bar > now you have the option to select which resolution and how many Hz you wish to run.

High refresh rate monitors are set to 60Hz by default(regardless of monitor, OS, or GPU), and you must set the refresh rate manually through your GPU's control panel.

I assume you're using Windows, so make sure that you use one of the "PC" resolutions in the screen resolution options, as the resolutions in the "Ultra HD, HD, SD" section only have the option to go up to 60Hz.

Try to tweak something in the monitor's menu; in the buttons. Maybe something needs to be applied or enabled.

@Oldman When i go to PC Resolutions, it dosn't have the option to do 1920x1080, the highest is 1680x1050...

@Blazko Boy when I go through the monitors menu, at one point it says
"H.Frequency: 68 KHz, V.Frequency 60Hz" but i can't affect it?

It doesn't show an option to switch to 144Hz?

not really, its under the menu tab Extra it says something about the 60Hz, and none of the other tabs says anything about Hz.

Cable must dvi-d, displayport or hdmi 1.3. hdmi 1.2 will not support 144hz.

@Carlsberg I have a Displayport cable from my GTX 970 to the monitor.
https://www.elgiganten.dk/product/gaming/andet-gaming-udstyr-og-gadgets/ADXDP217/adx-displayport-kabel-2-m this is the cable I got, I was told all Displayport cables was able of doing 144 Hz.

Try using the DVI cable comes with the monitor. I had a suspicion 144Hz only works with one of the input not all of the input.

And that is a fairly old outdated monitor released in 2014.

The manual should list the various frequencies / resolution / cable types combinations. 120Hz might be the fastest you can get for 1080p with a dvi-d cable.
nvidia gpu driver?

No, you're wrong. Dual Link DVI has no problem with 1080p 144Hz, or 1440p 120Hz.

@chiefputsi it says i have the latest drivers for my nvidia.

And i'll check later if i still have a d-dvi cable, how do i know if its a dual or normal? Easy way to see it?

I was under the impression that displayport cable where the best choice, so Therefore i got that.
