Razor Kraken V2 audio delay/some sounds wont play?
My Razor Kraken V2 sometimes has delayed audio, while other times certain audio just wont play at all. Anyone else have this issue or know a fix?

EDIT: I had the same issue with another headset, A logitech headset that used it's own suite as well. Could this be the cause of it? Do these headsets have issues with this kind of thing?

what suite? There shouldn't be any software involved unless its usb, which really should be avoided.

The Kraken headset requires Razor Synapse to use 7.1 audio. What is wrong with USB Headsets? my onboard audio is garbage.

No, just configure your onboard audio correctly.
Update that audio driver and then set to Virtual Surround
USB are garage because they don't offer good power, and how Windows doesn't switch back to the device when hot-plugged. Analog is way better for Headsets.

Look at your Motherboard specs, it tells u everything such as the Audio, LAN, etc.
Update all your Drivers for everything from their official chipset sites.

I updated my onboard audio. Still no explanation to why the delay or lack of some sounds happens, though.

Well if it is a usb headset, this never uses your Onboard Audio, period.
USB is its own chipset + driver.
Try a USB 2.0 port on the Rear of the Motherboard.
Make sure the Headset and its Mic are set as the default devices.
Then do not hot-plug them while things like Games are running.

I think I may have figured it out. I think its the 7.1 audio in the headsets themselves. It is creating a latency issue. Both headsets with these problems used 7.1 audio that had to be processed through software. This may be creating the audio delay. For instance, I had a headset that processed this type of audio WITHOUT the use of software, I never had an issue with that, but the 7.1 just felt like louder stereo. Don't know yet, would be nice if someone could clarify this. I should also clarify that the audio delay only happens sometimes.

Its always through software these days; done via Virtual Simulated Surround.
However, in the game, do you also have "Surround" applied as you should?

No. There are no settings in games like For Honor or Dead By Daylight that support 7.1 surround sound. No such options exist, only to enable to disable the use of headphones.

Usually they have in-game audio setting for Stereo vs Surround
If not, then the game is just already using surround playback, unless it's a much older game that only has 2-channel

Overall, sounds to me like ForHonor is just a poor example.
Many seem to have had issues with it.

Have you checked Windows settings; ensure the Playback is set to 24bit, 48khz for example

Max it goes to is 16bit 48khz. It could just be those games having bugs.

You have an extensive lineup of games where you could easily try out the Surround Sound in those; ones such as R6:SIEGE, KillingFloor2, Call of Duty all tend to have decent in-game surround sound. Do such games have issues for you with audio as well?

Testing TF2 right now. Nothing so far. Everything is fine.

But TF2 is not remotely demanding of a game.
In more demanding games, if you CPU is stressed enough, this could be affecting other things, such as USB devices perhaps. Overall, personally I would never lay down money towards Razer product, too many issues and garbage software.
