AMD Ryzen 5 2400 graphic drivers
anyone know about that? I never owned an AMD device and I don't know if interated graphics needs special drivers or they just use Vega drivers.

Don't, there is nothing special about the so called "experimenting" with what is going to be sitting in a closed case for months. Just get yourself a proper GPU, it will give you a way better gaming experience.

I'll probably give away my old PCs as i get new ones. I can't really think of any upcoming games with demanding graphics that i want to play in the next two years. (unless betestha release fallout 5 or blizzard release warcraft 4)

Dont buy an APU, buy a Ryzen CPU; like 5 or 7 series

Well, the 2400G turbo boosts at 3.9 ghtz and can be overclocked further. So it is as good as a R5 1500X.

Well the Ryzen 2400 going to be about $170, which the Ryzen R5 1600 is only $200, which you get hex core CPU with 1600, compare to quad core CPU with the 2400. I don't know about the overclocking with the 2400, but I want to see what it can, and can't do, as well how far it can be push, which we will have to wait a little longer to see a lot more benchmarks after a week the APU comes out, or sooner.

Ghz is completely meaningless alone. More cores help and so of course does the average cpu ipc output... Its 2018, if going Ryzen anything then dont settle for below a 6 or 8 core cpu, along with minimum ram of 2x8gb 2666 or better

The 2400 specs now spot 2933Mhz DDR4 native support so that's quite decent.

Although buying an APU and a GPU on top is quite counter productive.

Ok, back to your original question - yes, you will need to update your motherboard's bios to run the apu.

Apart from that, I suggest wait for the benchmarks to come out and see should you buy one.

Last I heard 2400G is around 1030/Rx 550? Unfortunately the one with integrated Vega that equals to 1060 is not coming to desktop.

2400 will be super low end, dont bother. And never buy any APU for demanding modern games, unles your ok with poor graphics options and low visuals that not worth even getting a PC for gaming. Thats something you go cheap on for younger kids and older seniors; those of which who wont be running anything remotely demanding.

But it should be fine for Esports titles like DotA, CS:GO, Overwatch and LoL.

I'm still using an i7 2600 and have no plans to upgrade yet. It holds up quite well, just look at these benchmarks:

https://www.gamersnexus.net/guides/2867-intel-i7-2600k-2017-benchmark-vs-7700k-1700-more?showall=1

The fact is, Intel hasn't been making major improvements until recently when AMD finally stepped up their game with Ryzen. It's your money, but I would just upgrade that GTX 550 (which was a midrange card when it was new about 7 or 8 years ago) and get a GTX 1050 or 1060. Then upgrade the CPU again in a few years or something when even better AMD CPUs are out.
Exactly. Because there's not much to gain at all just switching to an APU, if not going to use a decent GPU in the 1st place. Even then getting a GPU would be silly because could of gotten something better than the APU with a decent GPU.

Well sure... like I said, nothing "demanding" none of those are...

I'm gonna play last gen games for the next two years then buy a super pimped out $2000 PC when they release next gen architecture for CPU and GPU in 2020.

AMD has sent the Ryzen 5 2400 to several famous youtubers and tech reviewers so we might get to see in game results within a few hours.
