Is 75 degrees on 7700k normal while gaming?

I got this processor today, swapped it for my good old G4560 and I wanted to ask if this normal temperature for this CPU. I just played PUBG for 30 minutes and got average of 72 degrees with maximum of 80 degrees. I'm using Silentium Fera 3 also I haven't overclocked 7700k. I'm scared I could install aftermarket cooler wrong or didn't use enough termal paste...

Yes of course. Unless it's peaking upwards of 90*C+ then it's fine.

I was afraid It's my fault because I had problems installing my cpu cooler but if you say it's normal then I won't bother taking it off and installing again.

everything below 90-100°C is 100% fine. You cant use to less thermal paste just to much unless using liquid metal. If you worried aboutit the safest solution would be to buy a better CPU-Cooler while the cheapest, most effective solution is delidding the 7700K and switching the TIm with Liquid Metal. It comes with the loss of the warranty but easily drops the temps by 15-20°C (little over 27°C for me) in most cases.

well this is budget cooler, it has only 1 fan and small radiator because basically anything bigger woudn't fit in my case, also I'm scared to replace intels termal paste under IHS, I may do it in the future after my warranty is over, if you guys say this is normal temperature then I will simply increase fans speed maybe it will lower the tems to stable 70s while gaming, thanks for help, also my termal paste isn't the best in the world, it can be compared to mx-2

If it was going to be a problem due to the cooler alone, or how the paste was applied, you most likely would have already seen the CPU peak above 90*C+ @ sustained high loads.

also 7700k seems to be running all the time at boosted clock (4.5Ghz) instead of normal 4.2Ghz even when browsing internet, is that normal too?

Don’t think you should be using a stock cooler from a different cpu for a cpu that doesn’t regularly come with one.

Normal? Yes. Was it met to run that at stock speeds? No. Probably setting enabled in your bios making it run that fast on all cores adding more voltage and then making it run hotter than usual.

Also back to your temp question. Unless that game is using 100% of your CPU (which I don't know) then it's just a tiny too hot. Nothing dangerous or really anything to worry too much unless you are OCD by temperture or your CPU is thorttling back due to heat.

cooler isn't included because it would make 7700k go 100 degrees also seems like Im getting this temps only in CPU intensive games like PUBG and Withcer 3

I have enabled something in Bios to automatically make my RAM run at maximum possible speed, it actually might also have some affect on CPU I'll disable it and see if it change something

You should check the AMD, and Nvidia GTX 4th gen series.

If you have an Asus board try disabling Multicore enhancement and setting the cpu ratio to auto. That should bring it down to stock speeds, or it did with mine 8700k and Asus' crappy voltage on stock settings. Dropping from 80 to 73 with Prime95 Small FFT(Not a good test but was just using it for worst case temps) with a cheap CM Evo something until I upgraded to a better cooler.

I have MSI Z270 mobo and I have both OC Genie and XMP disabled
