CPU Cooler Question
I got 2 cpu coolers but idk which one is better to use for my cpu (fx 8350)
1. deepcool gammaxx 200T
2. the amd fx 8350's stock cooler

if any1 has any knowledge please give me some advice, thanks

I would probably use the stock HSF.

https://www.modders-inc.com/amd-fx-8350-cpu-wraith-cooler-review/

well.. first of all my fx hasnt got the wraith cooler like in ur 2nd link but it has the stock cooler
https ://goo. gl/images/UBfrwk - wraith vs stock
2nd thing is that i had no patience so i tested both..
1. deepcool gammaxx on full cpu load stops at 42 degrees
2. fx stock cooler on full cpu load stops at 46 degrees

tbh i was expecting way higher temps.. meh.

now.. as far as ive read the deepcool gammax is made for cpus that use under 100w and it only has 1600 RPM, it has a big fan and is very quiet..
while the stock amd it can take the 125w easily that my cpu needs, it can get to 3200 RPM, it has a very small fan and its very low but with all these positive specs why it gives me a higher temperature with it (4 degrees difference)

so.. what do u think?

I don't know why he posted that, the FX chip has nothing to do with the Wraith cooler, yeah. That Deepcool is a 120mm tower cooler, so I'd actually expect it to not only perform better than the 72mm'ish FX stock cooler, but also be less noisy. The stock FX cooler is not a tower, just a heatsink base + fins, however, both coolers have 2 heatpipes so they're a bit similar. Go with the Deepcool.
Because Wraith was THE stock cooler for FX-8350 since a couple years ago. Idk when did you buy yours.

No, according to the web it isn't. The Wraith that currently comes with the AMD chips has a 92mm fan, while the original FX-8350 cooler had a 70mm fan. That's not true.

There was a Wraith cooler for FX, but it doesn't look as nice as the current Wraith Spire or Wraith Max.

Still, the FX-8xxx Black Editions had some pretty neat box art

Either would probably work so long as you aren't doing much OCing

Well, the OP didn't say he bought that kit. I don't think many people bought that one. He has to have the vanilla stock cooler.

AMD FX-8350 Wraith is exactly the same as Wraith Max. You are wrong, Wraith Stealth is far smaller than I assume would be 70mm fan as well, and wraith Spire is between Max and Stealth.

tyvm sir
I would recommend the stock cooler. The Deepcool has 100w TDP and the FX-8350 is 125w TDP. That's not good.

Just because it has 2 heatpipe is meaningless. You always look at TDP first before looking at performance. Using a lower TDP cooler than a CPU is not recommended.

why is not recommended?
cuz it can get a higher temperature? but in my test the deepcool was 4 degrees less
Because it's possible for the cooler to be overwhelmed by the CPU.

Look at it this way, if the stock cooler is rated 125w TDP, then it should be fine up to 125w TDP. When the CPU is pulling less than 100w, the Deepcool will perform better i.e dissipate heat faster, hence lower temp. When the CPU is pulling 125w as per specification, the Deepcool will get overwhelmed and temp will rapidly rise, it might even lead to shutdown. The stock cooler on the other hand, still perform as per before.

Also look at it this way, just because a CPU cooler is higher rated TDP doesn't means it cools FASTER. A monstrous Noctua NH-D15 for example, may not outperform a crappy Deepcool by meaningful margin, when the CPU they both cool is something like 50w TDP. However, the higher wattage pulls, the larger the gap becomes, until the Deepcool simply can not cope with the heat.

so, if i use the deepcool, whats the worse it can happen?
can it fry my cpu? or it wil lead only to bsod?
It should lead to shutdown (Not BSOD) when stressed.
How can it shutdown if he's getting a max temp of 42C?
