Questions about bottleneck i7 8700k /1060 6gb
Hi, i have some doubts...i ordered a i7 8700k with a mobo and my currently VGA is 1060 6gb kfa2.
I play full HD 60/75hz (probably later will upgrade to 2k but not sure).
I saw many forum who say i7 8700k will bottleneck this GPU, is that possibile? And how? I always hear CPU can bottleneck GPU, anyway...i apprecciate any information about it, thanks in advance.

If anything that gpu could bottleneck the cpu not the other way round.

2K is 1080p

No.
1080p is 1080p or full hd..stop with 2k bs
2K is not 1080p. 1080 is 1920 X 1080 so it's not 2000 pixels Horizontally. That's why it's widely known as Full HD or FHD.

2560 X 1440 is known as WQHD or Widescreen Quad HD i.e 4 times HD/720p. 3440 X 1440 is UWQHD and 3960 X 2160 is UHD.

The 8700k will let the 1060 work to its up most best performance, given its pretty much the fastest CPU you can get for gaming right now, we can't technically tell if it is holding the GPU back or not, but it is highly unlikely.

(Technically a 7740k clocked at 5.4GHz will just out perform it where the thread count isn't an issue, but a similarly crazy 8700k clocked at 5.3GHz will not be noticeably behind, were talking fractions of a frame difference, while the 7740k will be ♥♥♥♥♥ slapped the second the extra cores can be utilised)
oh all right so shouldn't be a problem at all, i'm just worried games will go slower, like there are "limited" coz this bottleneck and a i5 8600k was a better choise.

A GPU cant bottleneck a CPU. The GPU is depending on the CPu as it needs the core data from the CPU to know what it needs to do. The CPU however is undepending from the GPU.

However there is no better gamign CPu then the 8700K and if the CPu is bottlenecking the GPU (which wont happen) then this is purely up to the game as it is insanely CPU heavy and not optimized at all... nothing you could do then
The 1060 will only use about 1/2 the 8700k. A cpu runs as fast as it needs to, It won't be a bottleneck (performance problem). The cpu will just idle along. In which case a cooler than has a low minimum or controllable fan speed would be ideal.
My 8700k is normally at 35-55% usage and my 1080 is always at or near 100% im highly doubtful the 8700k will bottleneck any gpu even 2 1080tis in sli

honestly in my experience the 8700k is an unstoppable beast.

It's the reigning heavyweight champ, no doubt about it. At stock clocks it's already unstoppable, and it overclocks like a boss.

Well, 8700k us definitely a champ, but not heavy weight, that honour has to go to the monstrous 7980XE, but, it is 5x the price, and in most cases a bit slower in games ...

If that's what it takes to be a heavyweight, what even qualifies for Super Heavyweight? An IBM Alpha? :steamhappy:

i was talking about in terms of gaming which the 8700k is the fastest hands down

Apart from if all cores can't be utilised at which point a 7740k can actually take the lead just, and when more cores can be used a high clocked 7900x or higher can take the lead.
But these are definitely edge case scenarios, for the vast majority of the time and use, yes the 8700k is the best gaming chip to buy right now.

No. This is NOT possible. How best gaming CPU in the world can bottleneck mid-level graphics?
You can use i7-8700k with pair Titan V in SLI and have no CPU bottleneck.
You can't SLI Titan V. There's no physical plug in for the SLI bridge.

"SLI" test was done with multi GPU.
