GTX 670M help needed!
Hi guys,
I need help to figure out what is actually my problem with this gpu.
I have old MSI GT780 laptop, original gpu on that laptop was GTX 560M and, for example, I could play BF4 on medium settings and lower resolution and get around 40-60fps.

Now I got GTX 670M, gpu fitted perfectly in my laptop, I installed latest driver but performance in games is awful. BF4 is lagging even on low settings on lowest resolution..

I did delete old driver and did the clean install of new driver but that did not help.. I also have latest BIOS from offical MSI driver download page.

Anyone have an idea what am I missing?

Thx

Nothing you can do but buy a newer gen Laptop, or build a Gaming Desktop.
Laptops are made (regardless of price) to really only hold up spec-wise for maybe 3 years; 5 years is a huge maybe, but that surely would be the more expensive laptops with high-end specs all-around.
Well I'm sure something is wrong with settings if 670m if performing worst than 560m..
did u try to reinstall windows? if a clean windows doesn't help, with necessary drivers installed, your try just failed. but if u did not reinstall windows yet...give it a try! imho.
Are you sure that your laptop actually supports that new videocard? Just because it uses an MXM slot does not mean it supports every videocard that physically fits into that slot.

Yes I know that, I tried before 780m (also fits perfectly in my laptop) but it did not work 'cos it is not supported.

Well windows is recognising it, and the latest driver was installed without problems (and you know installing nvidia drivers can be hustle), plus I also found on other forums that 670m is suppose to work on my laptop..

@Ana Kournikova, I did not reinstall windows and I really doubt that will help..
Nope, i don't know that installing nVidia drivers can be a hassle. Haven't had problems with them since the ASUS Geforce 6800GT which was a picky son of a female dog. But that was that particular videocard's fault and not the driver.
Lucky you, I'm having problems installing Nvidia drivers since always :D
Sometimes the latest drivers aren't the best drivers. What drivers were you running with the 560M?

Latest as well
Try older ones
I just did, it keeps jumping from 60 to 20 fps, it is so annoying :(

Edit: ok, this is what's on gpu: ms-1w051
I'm lost now, can somebody explain me is this 3gb or 1,5gb gpu?

There is a difference between a GPU fitting in a slot vs it actually working correctly.

Did you use DDU to wipe any old drivers and then reinstall them?

Yes, that's the first thing I did

I'm wiping eveything and reinstalling Windows, will see will that make any difference

So after spending 3 days on google looks like I need to edit my bios and flash GTX670M vbios.. I never did that and I'm kinda even afraid to try it, is there anyone who knows how to do it properly?

Thx
have you tried setting gpu settings to max performance?

have monitored cpu and gpu temps?
