Is Seagate FireCuda the best 2.5" hard drive?
Or are there better options? Thinking of buying 2 Tb FireCudas

weird....
Not weird. It aimed to be the smallest case in the world capable of fitting dual slot video cards up to 303mm length and a small AIO watercooler. It's 7.25L volume.
if it cant even fit an optical drive in it let alone an adapter, then yeah id say its weird if it can do all that other stuff.

This is the case in case you were wondering: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/33753221/dan-cases-a4-sfx-v2-an-ultra-compact-sff-case

Lol, the puns ^^
well that would be a no then since it doesnt appear to even have an optical bay

Yep, too small to include one. I guess if I really wanted I could just hook up an external USB drive or something

yeah thats all thats needed these days anyway.

Well, i have a 1TB 3.5 Firecuda as a game drive and it does very well.

considering the choices, i guess the firecuda would be the best option
I wouldn't recommend it but it is little faster than HDD.

So you think the Western Digital Black is the better option?

I think HGST is the better hard drive IMO.
SSHD are still just a mechanical HDD, the very very tiny SSD cache is just a slightly better "buffer" for such drives; they are still "slow"

But just fine for mass storage, sure.

If your Laptop does not offer an M-SATA or M-2 SLOT
Then perhaps look up "SATA Drive Caddy + your laptop model" in places like Google / Ebay
This allows you to easily add a 2nd SATA based SSD or HDD; by using this caddy as an adapter; just have to remove that Optical Drive to make use of it.

Yea if you need 2TB internal storage, FireCuda are just fine.

Um this isn't for a laptop.

Also I've decided to go with the WD Black 7200RPM drives.
If its not for Laptop then don't waste your time/money on any HDD that is 2.5 Inch

2.5 Inch for Desktops is more for SATA SSDs; since those were designed to work on Desktops and Laptops equally and do not require a larger physical size.

Desktop HDDs should all be 3.5 inch if its anything of a performance drive, period.

He doesnt have a choice because his small case can only use 2.5 drives.
which is detailed at the end of the first page

Ok thank you, did not notice the Case Model.

Well is the OS going on this Drive?

But yea 2.5 inch FireCuda is about the best budget high-cap HDD you gonna find out there.

Other options?
Buying a 3.5 inch WD Black like 2 or 4 TB and then External Enclosure that is SATA-III inside, USB 3.x outside. This way, if going external, u buy this way to be able to buy a great performance drive with excellent warranty.
