1440p 144hz? Zowie XL2730?
Im planning on getting a GTX 2070 when it releases, apparently its going to be near a 1080 ti in performance and I want to setup from the three 1080p monitors I currently have.

Seeming I currently always play CSGO I obviously want a 144hz monitor, at a higher resolution so 1440p. Is the Zowie XL2730 good? Seeming its 450 it seems like a bargin as I dont really want to spend that much on a monitor

I have the XL2730 as my main display and love it. Yes it's a TN panel but it's still a good display. It replaced my previous XL2411 that is now my second display.

For games like CSGO or dark envirnoments the Black Equaliser is nice to have. As is the Colour Vibrance option. Both can be assigned to custom keys for quick access if you prefer.

I don't use the Puck for anything other than switching profiles 1,2,3 using the buttons on monitor for navigating menu options but that might just be my preference.

Easy to adjust up/down, tilt and turn with markers so you know where it was before you moved it ( while cleaning , carrying it etc)

The 2 USB 3.0 ports on the left are nice if your setup doesn't obstruct them. My second display is on the left making them awkward to use. Currently has a small Bluetooth Dongle plugged in one as it only sticks out around 1 cm.

Test the headphone hanger once when I got it. Again it's on the left so doesn't get used but should be nice if you can use it.

My only issue with the Display is the Headphone and Mic connections on the left side. They don't work if you have monitor refresh @144hz. Refresh rate needs to be at 120hz or lower, stupid design. marketing monitor with hheadphone and mic capability and 144hz when you can't use both. Had they worked I would have considered changing my desk layout to make left of it clear by having my second display on the right.

It says its "Slightly pricier than competition." what other monitors are there out there with the same specs?
What makes you think it'll be a 2070, and not an 1170?
Not related to what I asked but, if you google GTX 1170 it'll come up with 2070, and every website/news article uses 2070

https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=GTX+2070&oq=GTX+2070+&aqs=chrome..69i57j0j69i60j69i61j0l2.2509j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
Yep apparently they're coming out in june/july, a time of the year which I'm more than happy to wait for. Theres no point me getting a GTX 1070 when in 4-5 months the 2070 will come out which is significantly faster

Or that it'll match a 1080Ti?

Nobody has a crystal ball. Planning to buy components because of what they "might" do is never a good idea.
Well think. A GTX 1070 is the current go-to 1440p card, so obviously the next gen 2070 is going to be significantly faster and will be more than capable at running 1440p. If Nvidia follow the same upgrade scheme they went for from Maxwell to pascal then a 2070 should be around 1080 ti performace, just as the 1070 is 980ti or the 970 and 780 ti (780 ti being a little faster).

Pascal was a massive re-design and cost billions of dollars in R&D. You can't expect to see another improvement like that this time around. All of the credible intel I've read says this coming range are tweaked/updated Pascal architecture, with modest performance gains.

AMD aren't providing strong competition and have recently lost a top GPU project lead to Intel. Intel themselves are years away from having a GPU ready for market, so Nvidia have every reason to stay quiet. Why spend another 5+ billion dollars when there's nobody around to fight?

Alright, either way a GTX 2070 will be more than able to run 1440p. Answer the original question please. I dont care about graphics cards, I just want to know if the XL2730 is worth getting.
There are other monitors with the same specs, just google 1440p 144hz monitors to shop around. I'd get one with Gsync if you plan to stick with Nvidia cards and want to keep the monitor for a while.
Also, even a gtx1080ti cannot handle gaming at 1440p 144hz anyway so you might want to think about getting a better gpu. I myself run games on max settings and in many games i only get 60-80fps...

Only old games like frikin skyrim can actually run 144hz...

Sounds like your CPU is holding you back. My regular 1080 hits 90 FPS across most games at ultra.

The same reason they made 10 series
The same argument applies, but they did

Nope, my cpu, while old, is still great (i7-5930k).

I dont play all that many games, but probably the only recent one that i can think of, that actually runs at 144hz is Doom. In most others i get 80, maybe 100 at most.
