Most IPS monitors have light bleeding problems and the colors are not much better compared to good quality TN panels anyway... I have an asus rog swift pg278q and some cheap asus ips as secondary, and my pg278q actually has better colors and completely no light bleed.
Sure, viewing angles are a bit worse on TN, but that does not matter if you sit in front of the computer.
I have 2 decent TN displays that I never suffer eye fatigue from even if I'm in front of them for most of the day.
No backlight bleed.
Viewing angles are no really an issue as most normal people would sit head on to their screens whilst playing. No issue with one as secondary display. only way it ould be a concern is it display was in portrait position.
UIn the long run you can get a better TN with other features and even save money towards a better GPU instead of paying the extra for an IPS
TN panels don't have this problem, only downsides are viewing angles and Color accuracy but keep in mind that for gaming you don't really need this wide viewing angles, and if you buy top grade TN monitor, difference in color is not very big.
If I was buying new today, I'd probably spend the extra as screens last a long time generally, saying that,I'd want it to have HDR, along with localised dimming.
I'd say, if you can afford it, go for it, if it means cutting back to get IPS, then it's probably not worth it, Gsync is way more important (or freesync if you use AMD GPU's).
If you're buying IPS for first time, and if you're not graphic designer, i kinda doubt you will notice potentional BLB . In my case, i can easier detect dust on my screen than minor blb in my bottom right screen ...
