Purple lines across monitor
My monitor does this sometimes. Could my GPU be breaking or is it time to switch monitors? None are overclocked

If the purple line appears on the screen while the monitor is connected to another computer, then the issue is with your monitor. If the purple line is still 'on your computer' with a new monitor then the problem is with your hardware or software, and you can dig deeper knowing that.

Make sure cable is properly connected, and if that doesn't fix it, try a different cable.

lines are probably made by a defective gfx-board. i would say this is the case. maybe you check this with another gfx board from a different pc. else could be the monitor. you can check this with a different monitor. last would be a cable defect...try another cable.

Its punishment for your 1 VAC ban on record.

On a serious note.

Test with another monitor or gfx card and see if its solves the issue, (depending on what you use) if the problem presist, you have your culprit, but as the others says, if not cable, then most likely its a faulty gfx card

it seems to happen when i use certain programs on my desktop, most likely the GPU.
is it possible to return my GPU for something like this?

Are you at the PC right now?

can you see the lines in a screenshot?

hit printsc key, open paint or another image app and paste

if its not on a screenshot, its most likely a cable or monitor issue
