Are Corsair psu's any good?
this is the psu i want to buy for my pc https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Bronze-Certified-Modular-CP-9020103-NA/dp/B01B72W1VA/ref=sxin_0_ac_d_pm its at a good price point for 650W but i've heard that corsair psu's die out in a year. Is this true for the CX Series?

Depends on the model. The CX modular lineup is very decent. You can often buy PSUs from the TX modular lineup for about the same price, so check your local retailers.

CX are not that good, better off with Seasonic if you are looking for cheap bronze.
VS are terrible, dont even consider those.
TXM are good.
RM and RMx are very good.

This is better option then the one you have linked:

It's 600W, compared to the 650W you linked.

They used to be good I stopped buying them after they kept popping. I avoid corsair psus and never had an issue since.

My TX 850w lasted me almost 10 years before I replaced it, so your mileage may vary. If Corsair’s customer service is still decent, I say stick with them or go with Seasonic.

technically a psu is a psu. they are all the same. the differnces are wattage and loudness. ..imho.
expensive psu's are mostly calm and have more wattage and work longer.
i have a bequiet psu 650 w. i have since 10 years and it runs well. i tihink to buy that corsair psu is no mistake...imho.

just no... while they are all advertised as a "psu", they definitely are not all the same and the differences are not just "wattage" and "loudness"..

Your 'opinion' is objectively wrong. Recommending a trash PSU can kill someones PC, then they have to potentially pay for all new parts.

There's so much more to a PSU than just 'wattage' and how loud the fan is....
You've got power efficiency (Bronze, silver, gold, platinum), then you've got how much power they can provide consistently, then you've got how much power they can pull at peaks (which some companies rate as the actual wattage), then you've got the protections that it has (OCP, UCP, OVP, UVP, etc.)

If you buy ♥♥♥♥, you get ♥♥♥♥.

Edit ; Broke the quote.

I own a HX1000i it's definitely good. Just remember when you do a RMA annoy them for a prepaid postage. The HXi series are intelligent and support both single rail and multi-rail mode. I had a minor problem wtth my HX1000i
