Titan Xp Crashing on any little Overclock? Why?
So I just bought Titan Xp sli but it seems that any little Overclock off a single or in sli causes my computer to crash and say Overclock fail in bios i changed bios and put it in stock overclocked gpu in sli by 50mhz 100mhz memory and 3 min into Destiny 2 boom another crash! is any body else having this problem where Xp just crashes your driver and bios for any little o.c you do ?

I7 5960X Cpu 4.5ghz O.C
XMP on 3000mhz 32gb @
Core Volts 1.3
Cache Volts at 1.3
System Agent Voltage 1.2

Are my TITAN Xp's drawing too much power from my psu?
Corsair Axi 1500w
With Lighting node pro installed
Corsair h150i
7 RGB fans installed
4 led light strips?
I7 5960X
Asus Rampage V Extreme
Corsair Dominator Platinum 3000mhz 32gb
Samsung 850 pro
Corsair axi 1500 psu
Corsair h150i pro
Nzxt h630 case
Acer XB321HK 4K gsync 32in ips panel

I keep crashing once I overclock my TITANS at any mhz
Even if I open up msi afterburner and only max fans so my cards won't get hot it still crashes I ran destiny 2 in sli at gpu stock and was still crashing what's the problem here guys? Is my PC full of too much wattage ?

You have a 1500w PSU.. Your system will barely draw half of that in a worst case scenario. Also you didn't list your full PC specs.

Maybe you shouldn't drop 5K on something you know very little about.
Monk 2018 年 5 月 25 日 上午 10:03
hopefully a stupid question, but you are using 4 8pins to power both cards right ?

your psu is crazy overkill even for titans, did you buy these new or second hand ?

what are the temps like ?

edit.

is this happening with any other programs ? can you get through a benchmark run of 3dmark firestrike and post the results ?

You bought 2 Titan XPs for gaming? You do know that they aren't targeted for game's right? They are more made for 3D development.

to be fair, for a while they were cheap[er than 1080ti's so, they made some sense at one point lol

I'm just trying to figure out why I can't keep my cards overclocked during gameplay cause they constantly crash even with 100mhz offset and 300mhz memory

You are simply pushing the cards too far. Either increase the voltage or lower the clocks.

No its 2 6 pins and 2 8 pin connectors
I bought second hand !
Temps are fine man I was getting 60c sometimes 55c on a overclock with voltage maxed so yea ? It just Crashes alot for example State of decay 2 just came out so I thought hey let me overclock a card and see how much fps I can pull I set it to 100mhz by 300mhz memory and like 5 min into game I kept crashing

I haven't tried benchmarking it yet using those programs but I will as soon as I get off work

Yea but they can still crush any game @ 4K gaming I simply wanted the best of the best plus I had money at the time

Will do but even o.c with +50mhz and +100mhz memory they still crash shoot I opened up afterburner and all I did was put the fan on like 85 nothing else launched destiny 2 and 3 min after landing on a planet it crashed what does that tell you

Double check with another piece of software if the settings you set using the overclocking software indeed applied correctly.

If the games or the display driver are crashing due to the overclock it simply means the overclocks arent stable, whether due to not enough voltage or because they cant handle those clocks.

If you think its a power issue, disable one card and test those clocks and see what results you get.

all in all, just lower the memory clock a little bit, the core clock should be fine at 100.

Well, if even a minor overclock still causes it to crash then unno, could just be the cards themselves.

In all honesty you have enough power. I wouldn't even bother overclocking.

Yeah, if anything just OC the CPU, of which i assume it already is
and just leave it at that..

But id test overclocking with one card disabled first and go from there

It's weird like okay I set it to 130mhz and like 300mhz memory and launched Warhammer Vermintide 2 on one card and never crashed but when I used the same settings for State of decay 2 it kept micro stuttering then crashing even by lowering it to the lowest my I possibly could so does every game have a certain oc setting that it needs to be stable in order to run fine or what ? I'll double check with precision X16 as well

Yea but even in sli running gpus at stock while playing destiny 2 it crashed over and over again what does that tell you ?

You have them connected via a high bandwidth bridge / solid sli bridge right ?
Do they crash without being overclocked ?

As they are second hand ... Perhaps we have discovered why they were being sold ?

Any chance they are new enough to still be under warranty?

There's also a chance the original owner messed with the bios which is causing an issue.

Yea via high bandwidth bridge I bought off Nvidia website yes as for crashing without being overclocked it only happened while playing destiny 2 last night at stock it Crashed my system ..as for there seller I'm about to ask them about there card usage and time warranty im pretty sure I can get warranty off one cause the second one came without it's original box I know I should've bought new but I sold my 1080s and needed gpu immediately
