ASUS vs EVGA GPU warranty
I have an ASUS ROG strix 370 motherboard. Want a 1080 GPU

I've noticed the warranty for ASUS products is lame and in the reviews, I've read the return process is less than helpful.

I see the EVGA warranty is 3 years

Anyone think this should be a factor in my purchase of a card? Or opinions on the cards?

Cards:

EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 SC GAMING ACX 3.0, 08G-P4-6183-KR, 8GB GDDR5X, LED, DX12 OSD Support (PXOC)

ASUS ROG GeForce GTX 1080 STRIX-GTX1080-A8G-GAMING 8GB 256-Bit GDDR5X PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready Video Card

EVGA warranty usually will be extended if you register your GPU within 90-days of purchasing.
Just be prepared to make of have an account with EVGA.com and provide them all the asked info about your product (not just GPU) and that you upload a copy of the receipt as well.
It's personal preference at the end of the day, go for the one you think is better.
Technically the Asus has the better cooler, with any luck you won't need the warranty, I've had an Asus card die on me (admitedly years ago) and they swapped it while upgrading it at the same time within a few days, as for evga, I had a mountain of issues with my elite cards (caused by the elite upgrade not the cards themselves) and they tended to get the new cards out ina few days (this was with the advanced RMA where I paid for new cards and was refunded when I returned the old ones), so they both seem pretty solid options, if you want to watercooling, I'd go evga as fitting waterblocks doesn't void the warranty, but for air, the strix is the best performing cooler (atleast on the 1080ti and I'm pretty sure it's the same for the 1080).
I would go ASUS over ACX cooler EVGA, iCX cooler EVGA cards are better ones.

Asus has great product replacement process, took less than a month each time and got a new card on both returns, evga has fantastic cs but I've not had to replace an evga gpu. Asus triple fan cards have best cooling in class.
EVGA
Hell, i was able to give my 1060 a 10 year warranty for $30
does ASUS do that?
And yeah, registering your card with EVGA is a must

I love ASUS's motherboards, but for GPUs i prefer EVGA.

I have an ASUS Strix. I've had zero issues with it. The fact that EVGA offers such a warranty often indicates that the company knows the build quality is cheap.

ASUS Strix also has a smaller foot print and a higher factory overclock.
EVGA all the way. With ASUS warranty repair most people throw the product in the bin and buy a new one. This is only my reflection on their warranty, ASUS is a viable hardware manufacturer.

what a load of bs lol, that would cost them a fortune, long warranties are a sign of belief in the product.
Thanks EVeryone. I have gone with the ASUS and have my fingers crossed. My build started at a 1200.00 limiit. I just crossed 1900.00...oops....lol

No offense, but that's the exact sales pitch Chrysler gave for their dreaded K-Car line :steammocking: :steamhappy:

Have to say, EVGA has some of the best offerings and warranty in USA, period.

ICX are good for air-cooled, but from now on I only buy the Hybrid models.
Or the Hybrid from Corsair, which are MSI NVIDIA GPU cooled by Corsair.
