Alternatives to EK a240g?
Yeah. The a series is pretty cheap for a custom loop, and i want to overclock my 1080ti. I was stupid enough to buy a founders edition haha

Basically, are there any similarly prjced alternatives? Preferably something wjth white components?

Thanks :)

no, beyond that you go full custom which at best will set you back around 500-700, if you want the parts white, you could always plastidip those that are safe to do so, carefully, so back plate, pump housing etc i guess.
but being aluminium is why it is so much cheaper, i have a white build (pics in artwork) but the loop cost me close to £1400 lol, for that i get to save a few degrees of heat and have it in white, well, parts, white rads were to wide to fit in the bottom.
that kit works only with a founders edition nvidia gpu
that includes your 1080ti
you are good to use the WK kit

Is there a place where you can buy alluminium parts? Its only a few degrees hotter than copper, and if im able to build a loop for the same price, or a bit more, thats great

Honestly, just use the ek kit, or swallow the cost for full custom.

What about pairing the EK s360 with a GPU block?

EDIT: Alright, seems temps are okay anyways. Thanks though :)

Also, a decent custom here in Australia is $800 lol

Yeah I was basing it on UK/US pricing, custom loops can cost a stupid ammount, thing is to not mix aluminium and copper.
From my own personal experiences, I wouldn't wish EK on my worst enemy.

A few weeks ago I ordered a complete Custom Loop from EK, cherry picked from their top-of-the-line Nickel parts. The whole thing cost nearly $700 AUD and was the most extreme cooler I could stuff into my case, without resorting to imported parts.

And it was a complete fiasco. At first start-up a gasket between the Reservoirs and the Integrated Pump failed and the system leaked catastrophically. A day later I found the CPU block had also leaked slightly, in a place which also implied an internal gasket problem.

That wasn't the only problem. I also had to wrestle for an hour just to install the radiator fans, a couple of drill holes were way out of spec, and the radiator casing itself was apparently stamped on Soviet era equipment. I eventually resorted to a rubber mallet wrapped in a dishtowel, and my entire vocabulary of Russian obscenities just to get the wretched thing mounted. I've never had a part fight me so hard, not in the 12 years I've been building systems.

Given these problems happened on EK's flagship parts, I wouldn't touch their cut-price range with a bargepole. Worryingly EK remarks on their own advertising that the A-Series takes "production shortcuts" in order to deliver a Custom Loop product at AIO money. And if I were you, I would be very afraid of that.
To be fair your car is an outlier and doesn't match up with the companies rep and my experience, the pump was very bad luck admitedly, but a block could of been down to over tightening either the block itself down or the fittings, they have a great rep for a reason, I am planning to use the a240g kit myself when I finally get round to updating my htpc.

Turns out EK had recently released a A360G. I might gi with that instead.

Though, is it safe to paint stuff like your reservoir if you cover up the inlets and outlets?
Block off the fins, buy and use some plugs to screw in so nothing can get into the rad, build up layers slowly and you should be good.
Rinse the rad through thoughtful before you paint it and I'd suggest using pladtidip as there's no prep needed.

I wouldn't recommend trying to paint the fittings, and for the pump base I would buy a vinyl wrap sample and cut that to size (I wrapped my pump in carbon fibre), they only cost a few bucks for a sample sheet (I had a selection as I was going g to wrap my new desks).

As for the reservoir, carefully mask off the sections you don't want painted, use plugs again in all opening GS so nothing gets inside and it should go fine, again, use plastic dip, it's very easy to use and can be peeled off if need be later, remember same as all spraying, many light coats, start spraying before you are over what you want to spray, smooth motion over it and stop spraying g once you are passed, I'd watch a few video guides before starting if you've never sprayed anything before.

Good luck.
