Locked into a 240w PSU. GPU options?
So my current rig is in an HP SFF case, proprietary 240w PSU (so no, I can't just upgrade it), i5-3470, 8gb ram and a GT 730. It's works well enough for me for right now but I'm looking to upgrade the GPU in a year or two. A new build is years off so any recommendations within what I mentioned would be most helpful.

GT 1030

Which is a GPU that is on par with the iGPU of the Ryzen 2200G for 99$...

PS (yes Our best option but that could also be don't with half of an upgrade)

How ever if Our need a new GPU in 2-3 years why not go for a cheap case and a budget PSU? Cost factor less then 80$ for unlimited upgradebility for years to come

Best bet really would be to just keep that HP Desktop as is; not put more $ into it.

As those HP SFF Motherboards are a form of BTX; they will not fit within an ATX Case.

Save up and build a Desktop without such ridiculous limits.

Honestly figured this would be the best way to go. It's no big loss just to keep it where it is since no new game has caught my interest (Except Shadow of the Tomb Raider but the DLC is ridiculous enough that I'm going to wait for the complete edition anyway). Maybe I'll get lucky on Black Friday and not completely drain my wallet lol
There are a ton of games out there, even good ones that are Free-2-Play
you might want to think about getting another case , they can be got for 40-50 bucks then you wont be so limited as to what you can upgrade

The Motherboard WILL not fit into regular off-the-shelf cases.

We've been down this road with folks many times.

They basically purchase a PC which no one should have made or purchased with the idea of upgrading in mind.
what the mobo is glued down ?
i find this hard to believe
I have a question. What Motherboard, PSU, and GPU do y'all recommend that I should look out for while not leaving me broke? I'm not all that knowledgeable about PC hardware but I figure that i5 core and 8gb ram is good enough so I don't have to replace them right?

But unless you find maybe a used Z97 ATX Motherboard you're not going to be able to simply re-use your current CPU and RAM.
well if you was thinking about a new GPU anyway and have the budget I would start with a Ryzen-G Build which you can setup entirely for 500$ which is at least on par with a GT 1030 and have a betetr CPu then you do have now. Thats however a complete build and not as cheap as an replacement of certain parts. In the end all a question of your budget and what you assume to leave you broke.
For starters I'd look at:

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/6hgcTB

That 2400G will have a better Gaming GPU than say GTX 750 Ti 2GB or GT 1030

With room to expand; both with the Motherboard, Case and Power Supply.

Jesus, that's the price of like 2 whole textbooks. Kidding aside, I'll bookmark it and wait for either a miracle or a sale because $500 is a bit much atm
