have you by any chance found another way so far?
I haven't been gaming so much lately, as I'm somewhat busy with other things in life, however when I do, i just don't want to unplug my monitor.
The only ''fix'' otherwise that I know is by buying another monitor with 144hz+ refresh rate. but my financials aren't going to appreciate that.
Not win 10 problem. I Have 2 144hz displays and can set them to different individual refresh rates without problems. Setting one to 60hz, 120hz or 144hz whilst the other to any other supported resolution. Works fine....even after restarts. Never had an issue using different gpus or win 8.1 or win10.
check your gpu drivers and try reinstalling them.
Try different ports on the gpu.
If it still happens and you have onboard graphics try connecting both displays to the motherboard. As it could actually br and issue with your gpu.
If you cant find a fix just turn the 60hz display off when not using it. The simple power button on monitor works fine. I do this when I want to enter Bios as my gpu prioitises dvi before DP making bios appear on 2nd display unless it is turned off
Ahh didnt know that, thx for the link. Must have upgraded to win10 before monitor changes to 2 144hz screens.
My points about simple turning monitor off should still solve the issue whilst gaming. Alternatively OP could also try connecting second display to motherboard. Not sure if itll work but worth a try.
