4+8gb ram dual channel

Ik want toen upgrade my DDR3 ram from 4gb to Total 12gb(+8).

Some (Unsure how many) support partial dual channel.

4gb of the 8gb module will run in dual with the 4gb module and the rest runs in single.

Yes, it still works, but may not yield same performance.
Considering you probably got some lower end system, it won't make a difference. But you could as well get another +4 GB.

Running 4+8 GB in my laptop too, but i actually need more than 8GB Ram. Just pick whatever fits your budget and needs.

dual channel wors with uneven ranks but if you profit from the double bandwidth is a random possibility depending on how uneven the ranks are. The memory controller doesnt decide to use dual channel first it places the files random. So it might happen that the first 4GB are going to be used first and then the 8GB remaining in dual channel.

Why do you think, 4x4 is better? As a rule of a thumb, 2DPC RAM config is always worse. Reasons are obvious.
