[Solved] PS4 Controller doesn't work anymore
Hi,

So, as the title says, my PS4 controller ceased to function on my PC. It worked fine on Steam and even with emulators but, just about an hour ago, I realize my controller wasn't detected by Steam anymore. It looks like Windows is aware that I'm connecting a controller (for when I connect it "Wireless Controller" appear on the devices list) but on the Game controller settings of windows, it does not appear.

In the Devices Manager, it appears the PS4 controller is detected under the "lib-usb win32" category as "Wireless Controller".

I looked for the past hour on the net for an answer, when I came across several posts advising to enable the "HID compliant game controller" on the Device Manager. But I don't it on mine.

The last thing I did with my PS4 Controller was trying to pair it with my phones. (an Android and an IPhone, for the latter, I did use a software to change the Bluetooth adress of the controller, but I reconnected the controller to the PS4 since, so I should be back to normal.)

I have no clues on what to do now, so any help would be appreciated.

I just tried to plug another controller (a USB controller designed for the Nintendo Switch) and it works just fine on an emulator or on Steam. It isn't recognized natively, as a PS4 controller is, but I can remap the button and use it without any problems on Steam games.

With this controller, the HID Game Controller appears in the Devices Manager.

So the problem comes from my PS4 controller. I think I have another PS4 controller somewhere, i'll try it.

Okay. I managed to solve my problem.

I'm sorry for creating a topic for problem I could have solved myself.

The problem was coming from the driver "lib-usb32". When you choose to uninstall it, you can tick a box to erase the driver used for the device.

After deleting the driver and re-plugging the controller, it was working right away and the HID Game controller appeared.

But I can figure out why it ceased to function in the first place. I did not installed lib-usb32. At least not yesterday. And the software I used to pair the PS4 controller was just for bluetooth functionalities, I don't think it modified my drivers.

At least my problem was solved. (Again, sorry for this pretty useless topic. Hope it will, at least, help some people out with PS4 controller problems.)

Hi Sleepy Cyb i am having a serious problem with the LIB-USB driver not installed in my Windows 10 OS. When i connect my FreeRider sim with my Taranis qx7 transmitter i get an error from windows that says: "USB not recognized." I have downloaded the LIB-USB drivers but i cannot connect to my transmitter or the sim. What did you do to fix your issue?
