Msi Rx480 gaming x throttling at 60c

Hi, since last month i am having this problem. Card used to run perfectly fine before that. Whenever it reaches 58-60c it starts to throttle increasing with the rise in temeperature. Also the gpu fans run at 85% automatically at these temperatures.The core clocks drop to as low as 600mhz if the temperature reaches 61c. I know this is not a software issue because i have tested this card on 2 diffrent pcs and have done all the things(gpu bios flash,increasing power limit etc etc). So what could be wrong with my gpu? Is it that the thermal paste is dried out? If so then why are my temps reported so low? Help please, thanks!

wattman is where the temp control is located .[ target and max temp settings ]
i dont use it (wattman)
afterburner is a much better solution for temp and fan control

its not a software issue as i said, my cards behaviour is not normal and i want to know what the hardware issue is with my card

he says he doesnt go over 61c

58-60c territory, core clock starts to fluctuate heavily, drops become bigger with the rise in temps

the card does everything it can to mantain below 60c like maxing out fans, lowering core clock to very low values

the problem was before i flashed and its still there after i flashed. i know that i did not break the card by flashing bios

i know you dont want to hear it, but i think it's your temp target and max temp setting in wattman isnt set correctly , i think your using wattman and it's messed up
you could re-install the drivers with a clean install to see if it will clear wattman and framerate target control .
you could try afterburner and set fan and temp controls there to over ride the wattman .
if you really think it's a hardware issue you should contact msi support and see what they say

Yes avoid wattman if you can.

I agree, if your truly out of options, go to a computer company that deals with hardware issues and try to do a clean install of Windows

a card can also "throttle" if you don't have enough power to maintain the voltage. being as increasing the power limiter didn't work, decrease the voltage. as you decrease voltage, you may have to decrease frequency to maintain stability. every card is different and some cards can operate at lower voltages than others.

try this and report back results with what values you used.

As i said my card used to work PERFECTLY fine for a year and the target temp is at 72c which is default

not a software problem since i have everything software related fix and i have tested the gpu on 2 diffrent computers

its the same thing man, its not a power issue. it ran fine for a year with stock voltage and also with +96mv when overclocking. i have done everything software related so i know its a hardware issue.

I flashed my too...so why...for oc..you can do much more changes...like timings..and this why it was more stable for me...anyway i bricked the bios but no problem was possible reflash a bios..so rx480 is the only card i doing this...btw there are 4gb modelsof rx480...with flashing u can unlock the full 8gb...
