Youtube Framerate Drops
I figured that I would post this here as it could potentially be linked to my hardware or internet.

So recently when I try to watch 720pHD60fps videos on YouTube the framerate will drop dramatically. For example, just a moment ago I tried to watch a video (in the resolution that I just said) and in just 3 seconds 800/860 frames had been skipped.

This is not the first time that this has happened. Over the last few days I have been getting these frame drops, which has pushed me to just not watch YouTube.

Surprisingly, this issue's first occurance was maybe a month or two ago, which was fixed with a quick refresh of the page. After that incident, it never happened again until recently.

I thought that maybe the problem was that I was still using the old Beta version of the current YouTube version (this is the one that was popular because it added in the "Dark" feature), so I cleared all of my internet history so that I would be able to get the new version, and it was still having problems.

Has anyone else ran into a problem like this? I would really like to fix it quickly as the only other way for me to watch YouTube is with my phone, but it is awkward to hold sometimes and doesn't exactly have the ability to show a lot of detail.

Open a video, let it completely buffer and then play it, does it still skip frames ?

By completely buffer do you mean let the white bar go all the way across the bottom?

Yes, open the video and pause it, wait till the bar fills and then play it.

Whenever it's paused and has stopped buffering there is no network activity.

I really doubt that it is my internet connection and how much is going on, as for the last couple of months everyone in my house has been on the internet (My brother on Fortnight PS4, my dad streaming stuff on our Amazon Firestick (actual livestreams), and my other brother doing whatever (most likely YouTube) on his tablet).

Check SpeedTest.net to ensure your Internet connection isn't the problem.
Smooth flow and not spikey or dropping out?

Note that Youtube today is currently having some issues with certain server location. However, that mostly affects live streaming.

Too little FPS on Youtube is when the entire video just stops moving.

Computer Specs -
Processor: AMD A8-6410 APU with AMD Radeon R5 Graphics 2.00 GHz
RAM: 6.00 GB (4.96 GB usable)

I'm using the latest version of Firefox.

My internet speed (the last time I checked, if I am correct) is about 8 mb/s download 1.(something) mb/s upload.

My internet service provider is Windstream (which around here is basically the only service provider unless you want to go for satelite, which is awful).

The modem is a Windstream modem.

I'm afraid have bad news for you. DSL aren't the best internet at all. My theory is that you live too far from it. It can't keep consistent internet speeds. So, I'm pretty is normally for you that it does that. You're right satelite are actually worst than DSL. I would suggest a different browser. Chrome or Opera, they are better. Internet Edge is the better too.

DSL? I'm not sure what that means.

Also, I live like half a block away from the Windstream place. We live in smalltown America. The only way that we could get better internet would be if we had that fibercable (I don't remember what it's called, but it's the physical way of having internet) stuff. My friend has it and he has much faster internet.

Yes. Fiber might be the only way. I would suggest to trying out https://www.cablemover.com/ first to see if you can get cable. It is expensive I know but it is really good. It is better if you have your own modem too. To get fiber, you might have to paying the labor cost too. They're very expensive internet. It is called FiOS (Fiber Optic service)

DSL is digital subscriber line that you bassically using old school phone port, but it is connected to DSL modem. You can using phone while on internet that dail up can't.

My family doesn't have the money for a Fiber Optic Cable line. Apparently, beforre we got our house, they ran a line down my street, but since that there was no body living here or something we didn't get the cable, so basically every house but ours on our street has access to it, but we don't.
